It's the accent, Si. Southern Chicks can't resist (and when I say southern I mean everything south of Sunderland).Originally posted by Fierce View PostMine doesn't, fancies the pants of the big ugly pony tailed headcase
Wayaye!
****ing loving having a Geordie number 9 like
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

These days, definitely. Camp as Christmas our songs these days - look at Maxi's song and Lucas's song, this would fit in fine with those two. Definitely some repressed homosexuals in the standing block in my opinion - would be better for all concerned if they just came out, embraced it, and we could go back to having more credible songs for our players...Originally posted by Craig_H View PostCan you see the Kop singing the lyrics 'hands touching hands' ?

In my opinion by the way, Carroll is a great signing. In some ways similar to the Collymore signing. He's got the lot - pace, power, great shot with both feet, can lead the line, can score with his head, can tough it out when he needs to. The only doubt about him is mentally, in that he gets into trouble off the pitch. If kenny can sort his head out, I'm convinced we've got a class class player. Very happy that he's with us, hope he fulfils his promise with us.

did the same sums myself.Originally posted by gerbin11 View PostAn interesting take on the two deals.
Carroll to LFC will cost a total of £55.02m (taking the reported wage of £70,000 pw)
Torres to CFC will cost a total of £97.32m (taking the reported wage of £175,000 pw)
Thats almost half the cost. Torres being a 27 year old (as of next month) with a dubious recent injury record. I would say he will struggle to see out that contract at the any consistant level. Carroll just turned 22 yrs with real potential and a definite raw talent.
It is a huge gamble for both clubs but at least our gamble will allow some re-sale value should he not reach the heights his potential suggests.
whack on estimated resale value at the end of their current contracts with carroll at 27/28 and torres at 32 and the picture looks far, far better for us.
