I reckon £17m will seal the deal.

I agree, BUT the fee in the loan agreement is £17m. That's what we agreed on when they loaned him, so that's what we should be trying to get. If not what's the point in the contract in the first place?
I'd fully hope at the very least that's our starting position on this. If towards the end of the summer we've still not agreed a deal with him, then maybe we can drop our price.
I think although none of us rate him, his stock in the Premier League is slightly better than we realise. I think we should get near to £15m personally (which I'd be ****ing delighted with
).

I rate Carroll but only in a specific set up, plus he is injury prone.Originally posted by Pablo1981 View PostI agree, BUT the fee in the loan agreement is £17m. I know some people hate the idea but I would have no problem whatsoever with having Carroll as a 'plan b'. 13 league draws for us this season, how many of those draws could we have turned into wins by going route one, getting Andy to win the knock down for Sturridge (who looks like a quality poacher) to get the ball over the line.
Sturridge
Suarez
Borini
very similar, Carroll is completely different and as far as I'm concerned if we are drawing the game going into the final 5-10 minutes I couldn't give two ****s about style of play all I care about is winning the game.
Also in those final 5-10 if we win a set piece we have argubly the best header of the ball attacking that set piece and also if the opposition win a set piece he'd be defending that set piece.Last edited by spider-neil; 20-05-13, 10:14 AM.

TBH I’d probably prefer to have him in the team over Borini at the minute. I don’t really see how Borini fits our system any more than Carroll would.
I imagine Borini will look much better next year, but with Suarez, Coutinho and Sturridge, I’m not sure where he’s likely to play.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Remember Barca away at Chelsea in the CL semi final 2nd leg a couple of years ago? 93 minutes they passed and passed, got nowhere and were going out. They kept passing, passing, passing and in the 94th minute Iniesta scored a wonderful goal. You either have faith in your system or you don't - I fail to see the good in abandoning your principles from 80 minutes onwards in favour of hoofing it miles up into the sky and hoping for a bit of luck.Originally posted by spider-neil View PostI have to stress that if we've spent 80 minutes trying to break down a team playing a certain way with no success, what is the point spending the last 10 minutes playing the EXACT SAME WAY?Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
