I've no problems with people discussing and criticising Carroll but some of the comments recently have been ****ing pathetic

I've also got no problem with people making jokes at his expense etc.. but some of the comments have been downright vitriolic

There will always be some fans that will express themselves the wrong way but for me most of the comments about Carroll are true. And jokes and banter is different story.

Question for you Lec. Do you consider Carroll a flop of a signing?

I'm disappointed in what hes done at our club

I grew up in an age of more patience so I find the modern mentality to crucify people as quickly as possible hard to understand

What about likes of Robbie Keane? Did you think it was the right decision like alot of people did getting rid after 6 months?

He has been here a year though and I know he has only completed the equilavent of 13 games, but if he was any good he would have played more!!

We all gave the likes of Voronin more than a chance and ultimately he wasnt upto standard and actually Voronin was probably better in his first year to

He's quite clearly not cutting it here at the moment, but there must be a reason why we've kept tabs on him for a while and that he's represented England at most levels.

A team like Villa would utilise his strengths and we could see whether he's capable at the top level. It might help relieve some pressure too.

Give him the service like Gerrard did against the barcodes, and I think he'll come good.

Also, he needs players to run on to his flicks etc, that will give him confidence to succeed whereas at present no-one is busting gut to get beyond him

and i dont buy that the Liverbird is all that matters, So you were fully behind <insertrubbishplayerhere> becuase there has been loads over the last twenty years that should never have been wearing the red shirt to start with.

I am all for giving any player a chanc and i still support him but just like many others before him its hard not to have a groan when the most simplest of tasks are beyond him.

Thats just the thing Carroll was pretty much injured the first 6 months

I understand the concerns that people express about Carroll but I do feel that in addition to his own deficiencies there is also an element of not giving him the sort of service to improve his game

The problem for me now is that many people have already decided hes done and nothing will change that. For me his game has gradually improved but its at such a slow rate and I think its at too slow a rate when really nothing short of an instant and immediate jump from where he is now to and Alan Shearer type player will turn the tide of opinion amongst fans

Oh and Voronin was hated by his teammates and not on a personal level (purely on a professional or unprofessional level)

For some reason despite his form Carroll is pretty well liked by his teammates from what I hear (and not just amongst the English lads)

I'd imagine Keane's main gripe was not getting the game time he wanted. I was of the opinion the Keane even though he wasn't great at LFC, was a bit of a pawn in the war between Rafa v Parry. BTW i know you were big Rafa fan and by no means am i trying to fan any flames about that age old argument

Anyways the reason i mention it is because so many were delighted when Keane went even though he had 7 goals in 20 games & Carroll this season alone has 4 in 25 as the stats show.

Just saying this as I remember recently seeing one of you're posts talking about Rafa's mistakes and you mentioned Keane and Babel i think. You seemed happy enough so hence why i would ask you did you think it was the right decision to sell after 6 months as when you're still defending Carroll after 12?
