I'm not massively criticising him, if he's going to go on a bender then now's the time to do it

I don't think he's up to being a modern footballer though, an athlete with extreme dedication. That's what all the top players are. Every single one of them. It's also why Rooney is falling short. He, like Carroll, is a slob, not an athlete. They refuse to make the sacrifices necessary to make it to the very top. It's why we were appalled at his fitness levels when we signed him, and it doesn't look like he's learned his lesson.

Can't wait until he's sold TBH.

Him and Rooney will be proper fat *******s once they are retired.

Have you seen how much Rooney and Carroll's current contracts are worth? I'd say they've made it to the very top.

Come on Neil, that's lame. I'm not talking about money, I'm talking about performances. Both of them could be better players if they really took care of themselves. They don't.

And we'd often manage to be both in the same game, although when it happened it was almost always the former followed by the latter than the other way round.

My main concern was that it appeared to be totally random, I couldn't see why we we'd be great one game, or even half, and terrible the next. And the fact so many of the good performances seemed to involve Maxi who would immediately sit out the next five games made the randomness of selection and tactics even more bizarre. I don't know really whether Carroll made that much difference but I don't think he helped.

And following the Carling Cup the good performances became rarer and rarer.

It was this lack of pattern - a positive one anyway - that made me reluctantly support changing the manager. And the fact we now have a football strategy in practice is precisely why I think Rodgers has done a good job.

So if he doesn't want Carroll, it's fine by me.
I thought our attacking play was, very little in terms of creative play bar get it wide and cross it in or have Suarez try and create something by himself. We barely get in behind a team or had players free in the box. I do agree about Maxi though.

Fair enough Incidentally I'm eating a load of biscuits right now, which makes me a massive hypocrite, but whatever

I thought he was playing a lot better towards the end of last season but can you really see him being part of our current attacking style of play? Too slow and dim witted.

In regards to Carroll at West Ham, my best mate is a West Ham fan and even though he agrees that they play **** football now, he says that Carroll is often their best player when he plays and when he is out they are a different team. Lots of people around our club might not rate him but it may be the case that West Ham actually do. Who knows maybe we will recoup a lot of the money we spunked on him.

Being **** in one team doesn't make them a **** player. Look at Sahin or Morientes.

I wish Andy the best of luck and yes he looks a decent player at West Ham.

I imagine a team under Big Sam they would look different when they have Carroll to hoof it up to instead of Cole.

I think they are a great fit and good luck to him next season, lets just hope we can get half our money back.

                              I'd take the £10M.

                              Seriously.

No matter what we think or feel Carroll is "worth" (that being a relative term) I would take pretty much anything to get rid of him, get some money for Brendog to spend on a player we can actually use and get his horrendous wages off the bill too.

The BBC are reporting that Liverpool and West Ham have reached an agreed fee of £15m for Andy Carroll. Personal terms are yet to be reached.
