    Hmmm, pot & kettle:

    3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Keep it coming, more incentive for big Andy to perform, and flatten those that question the wisdom of signing him because they are jealous we never signed them.

By joining LFC, Carroll has become a shoe in for the England squad. I wonder why Bent could have a gripe with that?

I wonder if Bent fancied the red of LFC - nah being silly much better move to have gone to Villa

He's hardly said anything outrageous. In fact he's said what a lot of people on here were saying at the time.

Haha - what a great question. This should identify the real ITK'ers.

He hasn't, but as a fellow pro footballer he should have a little more respect and keep comments like to himself especially as the same comments have been made about him on the amount of cash spent on him.

                Spurs - £16.5M
                Sunderland - £10M - rising to £16.5M
                Villa - £18 rising to £24 M

Although I don’t really see much wrong with what he said, people need to remember when reading these quotes that a lot of time the players are only answering or commenting on questions put forward to them.

How many times have people went overboard on comments made by one of our players to then read the full transcript to find there wasn’t much in it at all?

I would imagine that it’s because of his own hefty price tag that these questions were put forward to him.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Liverpool's record £35m signing Andy Carroll set for debut against Manchester United at Anfield

Andy Carroll is in line to make his Liverpool debut against Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday after the club’s record signing finally joined his team-mates for full training, more than a month after his £35 million deadline-day transfer.

                        02 Mar 2011

Carroll looked sharp as he underwent a punishing session at Liverpool's Melwood training base on Tuesday under the watchful eyes of Kenny Dalglish, Sammy Lee and first-team coach Steve Clarke. He will be examined by the club’s medical staff today to check he has not suffered an adverse reaction ahead of Manchester United's visit.

Though the 22 year-old- who has not played since Dec 28 and only returned to light training a little more than two weeks ago - would need to make miraculous progress for Dalglish to contemplate naming him in his starting line-up against Mr. Ferguson’s side, Carroll is thought to be in contention to be named among the substitutes.

The striker admitted upon his arrival on Merseyside that, despite visiting a Swedish specialist to establish the exact nature of his injury while still a Newcastle player, he was not entirely sure why he had been side-lined for so long.

Though Liverpool’s medical staff, led by Dr Peter Brukner, are believed to be confident their treatment programme will cure the issue, the club will not take any risks with the player.

Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
