I think he'll be on the bench, and the return leg he'll start.

Cant see this one being pretty, no Suarez, doubt Carroll will start and Gerrard must be a doubt after playing through the pain. These ended Benfica's 18 game winning run tonight by beating them and while they arent great they are lightyears ahead of Sparta Prague which we nearly made a mess of.

Makes sense, doesn't it? I think it's a bit of an open secret that we'll be in for Ashley Young. Would be nice to see a couple of wingers brought in though.

Charlie Adam's set pieces would also compliment Carroll very well. 2 british players, who should be available.

Kenny wants to play open attacking type of football and to service Carroll properly we'll definitely be needing a winger (2 would be better) as well as offensive minded LB like Enrique.

Good shout on Adam. I was thinking today how much more we could have stretched mancs with his passing if we had signed him in January.

Hopefully we'll be going back for him in the summer.
