Andy Carroll - Best Striker in the World

Did anyone see Llorente's finish at the Bernabeau last night? **** me. Andy Carroll could try that 20 times and I reckon he'd slice every one miles wide or clear it over the bar and into the car park.

In fairness Llorente did miss a sitter after that but he's world's apart from Carroll.

There is so much obvious talent abroad, and very little British talent. It's not complicated is it?! Yet the BBC reckon we're after Jelavic FFS (yeah yeah, I know he's not British) and he "prefers LFC to *West Ham*".

That's the thing thats dawned on me recently...we are still quite an incompetent club when it comes to issues off the pitch. The whole Suarez saga was dealt with in an amateur way and it was really surprising as I thought with the new owners it would've been nothing but the best especially when it came to defending the club's stature. As for scouting, not being funny, but i reckon most of us on here could pick out better talent (especially if it was a full time job which we were getting paid to do!).

Can't blame moneyball for that. The Americans dont' have a clue who Downing is...Comolli and Kenny have to make those choices and the stats then fit into the moneyball scheme.

If Comolli/Kenny suggested Falcao then the Americans would have been just as receptive.

I think downing/henderson/Adam have shiown that moneyball is clearly bollocks.

As much as i rate Henderson i am sure the moneyball approach would have expected a better return this season.

Carroll's value is plummeting at the moment. Would anyone pay 15million for him now? I'd be very tempted to cut our losses on him if we could get that amount for him. But any less and I reckon it's probably worth keeping him and hoping he develops - which there is always a chance that he will.

I'd like to see us bring in another striker to ease the pressure on him. If we had someone else scoring goals I think it would be a lot easier to stay patient with Carroll.

I was gutted. Some others were too. Then he signs and you decide to give him a clean slate and give him a chance.

Yeah, because jounalists are like that. He was being talked about as being a top player in the making, as i remember, now we're to believe no-one spotted he couldn't even play football as was a total fraud all the time, i don't think so.
