good game for him last night. held it up well, chased back to win tackles, dominated in the air, good lay offs for suarez & stevie . . . .wont get carried away but finally finding his feet?
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

He's been good in the last few games but Dawson had him in his pocket where it mattered last night.

To be fair despite the odd ball I thought the general delivery into him was ****ing shocking

Matt made a point before about us getting wide and putting balls in being our only plan of attack

Whilst I disagree with him on that, we do have a tendency to just punt balls into the box from 40 yards out (particularly when we start to get a tad desperate)

You look at United they get wide frequently and put numerous balls into the box but they are nearly all from areas that matter

Man Utd tend to overload the box with players and their holding midfielders are outside the penalty box to pick up any loose pieces. It's why their crosses work out a lot. Their players move into key areas inside the penalty area and pounce.

I agree that the delivery for Carroll was shocking. It wasn't great last night and I don't hold that against him.

Don't know if it was Dawson being impressive or us being limited, but he was in control. Another player made to look good in opposition defence.

Regardless of men in the box United still get in the areas that matter

We dont even get into those areas often enough

You could see the ball was going central and you could also see that Carroll was winning the majority in the air; if we'd pushed Bellamy and Kuyt further in to go off him, we'd have created more chances because the defender had come out to challenge Carroll in the first place.

We just didn't take that risk.

We would have had the width from Kelly and Johnson, but we set up to push Walker and Essou-Ekotto (sp) back.

I can't really add anything to that. Pretty much agree with it.

I can barely remember one decent cross last night!

Im really pleased that he seems to be turning it around. He was getting a few cheers last night for putting in the effort on some lost causes. Since the Bolton game, he has been a different player (I am aware that its only been 3 games )

I actually thought he was ok first half against Bolton

Hes improving all be it slowly

He just needs a couple of back-to-back goals and I think you will see him grow in confidence

                              Bit of both maybe

since when has being good at flick ons been the way that Liverpool strikers are measured?

Saying that he looks like he is improving but a big gap between where he is and where we need him to be.
