Aquilani was the better player - no doubt about that. Nobody will ever disagree.

But Carroll did score a couple of important goals.

**** knows why I mentioned Aquilani.

    Both shocking signings.

Spurs definitely bid 25m for him on deadline day. I watched the drama unfold. It was a horrendous day. I was working from that day and watching SSN all day. It was like a nightmare.

Fair enough, not sure redknapp should count though!

He was free and his contribution was equal to that of one Robbie Keane! Although Robbie Keano helped us to win the away merseyside derby

Andy Carroll is Liverpool's record signing and ran around in slow motion, grumbling and moaning. Aquilani was a punt when there weren't many options at the back end of the worst ownership regime the club has had.

So yeah, Andy Carroll is ahead of Aquilani, Stewart Downing, Charlie Adam, Robbie Keane, Julian Dicks and Paul Stewart

Spurs bid for everyone potentially available striker there was in that window

                Rossi, Suarez, Llorente, Carroll...

Spurs were fairly seriously bidding for him, I remember laughing when I heard they had bid £27m, then about a week later we bid £35m
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Hodgson should count as a signing and with his failed signings and his £8m pay off it makes him by far the worst signing ever.

                          Injured again I see

Rodgers must have the gift of the gab to get £18m off fat Sam.

Plantar Fasciitis can be a real lingering issue as well for him. Could affect him for the rest of the season.

Rumours on Twitter - no idea where they've come from - that he is to retire because of the injury.
