Yep. It blows my mind. £20m for him FFS. An absolute ****ing calamity and can be ranked up there with Konchesky, Poulsen & Carroll as absolutely blatant calamities from the minute they were first linked. How someone like Kenny couldn't see this blows my mind.

Agreed. Shocking, shocking signing. I wouldn't mind seeing how Adam, Henderson (especially) and Carroll do under Rodgers, but Downing HAS to go.

I think he means that just because we've only received loan offers, that doesn't mean we're not looking to move him on permanently.

This is terrific news if Downing's up for sale. It's exciting because it will show the real ruthlessness from FSG and Rodgers, as long as they don't bugger it up by paying too much for real signings and being too slow.

Might show some real faith in the younger players too if we're not looking to bring in four players and more.

£8m IMO is about his value...surely the likes of Sunderland or Villa would be interested. Villa would be laughing - £12m profit for a (****ing ****) season away on loan.
