The response to your post was due to the fact that you called all the recent british signings "utter ****e". This is wum behaviour, regardless of your views, which are unbelievably negative.

As for your match attendance record, congratulations. Doesn't make your opinions any more valid.

I find that it adds an element of class to any post or sentence, although I'm not advocating that you now go off and write 'happy birthday, cunt' in your wifes birthday card. That may not end well.

But in everyday chatter it'll catapult you in with the real sophisticants.

Tbounce must be a barrel of ****ing laughs on a matchday

          **** me
We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.

Adam - couldn't get into the Rangers team (Championship level in my view) before going to an actual Championship team (Blackpool) where he was in a promoted side which promptly got relegated again. They got relegated to the Championship where they belong - the fact their second best player last season has now joined us does not alter the fact that he wasn't good enough to play in a team which could last 38 games in the Premier League.

Andy Carroll - great player. A lot of the idiots on this forum have taken great delight in Torres being a total flop for Chelsea. He has scored 1 competitive goal for his new club. Carroll has scored in 1 competitive game for his new club, and our third on the night looked like an own goal to me, but I was only at the game - you of course would have had a much better view from your armchair.

Carroll is a much bigger waste of money than Torres. Torres has played at the highest level for Spain, scoring the winning goal at the European Championships. Carroll was bettered by the likes of Stokes and Hooper when they all played in the Championship at the same time. The prevailing view that the current stewards of the club can do no wrong is imbicellic - if we had signed Gary Hooper for £35 million would you have been happy? Probably. Says more about you than me.

Henderson - 20 years old. Achieved nothing in the Premier League. Is he Championship or Premiership standard quality. 18 very average premier league months very much leave the jury out. I don't mind a "punt" on young talent but £20 million is ridiculous. Has he showed the promise of a Gerrard, a Rooney or even a Walcott - no. Therefore to spend only slightly less on him than we did on Suarez is a risible decision.

Downing. Best season was with Middlesbrough - an established Premier League club. He contributes very little, is perennially injured and has extremely limited resale value. I will concede he is of Premier League quality, but is no better than that fan favourite Jermaine Pennant.

As for contrasting this time last year to our present situation, I think we are immeasurably worse off. Champions League football is further away than ever, we have weakened our team since this time last year whilst United, City, Chelsea and Spurs have strengthened and Arsenal, for the moment at least, haven't weakened.

Mascherano and Torres or Adam and Carroll. Gee that's tough.

I know our messianic owners, exhalted director of transfer policy and deified manager can do no wrong. Let's just see how you feel when our 2 remaining top class players (Reina and Suarez) leave and we replace them with more **** at twice the price.

I was in Istanbul and Athens but those days are well and truly behind us now. Still - what do I know. The geniuses of EST have spoken - any dissent is "wummery". I think Mr Oldham told me something similar when he banned me.

                True.

However, probably with the exception of downing, I can understand the assessment as I've felt similar at times. We are definitely putting a lot of faith in Kenny, which he obviously deserves, but it's not inconceivable that it falls flat on it's face and we've pissed tens of millions up a wall. I can see why a lot of people feel positive but i don't feel overly confident at the moment.

Tbounce was little bit OTT on his evaluation on our new purchases but he did raise a good point imo when it comes to Henderson.

We'll have to wait and see how things will pan out but we did significantly overpay for a player that no other big club showed much interest.

Hey Op. Can you tell me how many times you went to see us play last season please so I know if you have any credibility. Thanks

It's an obvious point though, one that's been made numerous times, and one that journos's and pundits bring up all the time when talking about how much a player cost...it's always..."but Henderson...20mill? if he's worth 20 mill...blah blah blah"

                          We know!

But tbh, who the hell does he expect us to buy right now, out of europe, able to be outspent on any top player we go after that the Super rich clubs also want.

Just think he's being very un-realistic and super negative.

I have my doubts, of course i do, but our hands are tied, we've fallen behind, others have got not bigger...but Gigantic wealth, and ffp looks to be defunct already, it's going to be a hard road back to the top, and it has to start somewhere, we are where we are for now.

Time will tell if he's a good buy or not for the price. I won't be slashing my wrists either way, does that mean I'm not a real fan? Hardly

operation is quite right to express his views. weve spent nearly £55m on carroll and henderson who are untested at the highest level and since he's been here carroll hasnt exactly set the world alight. his lifestyle is questionable for a professional football but he's only 21 and henderson on 20.

could we have gotten better value for money elsewhere ... probably but theyve both got long term potential. downings signing for me is fantastic because he is a left winger but but he can play pretty much anywhere in the forward posessions. if you'd have said one year ago we would spend nearly £75m on those three i'd have choked on my chicken.

are we stronger than last season yes no doubt. adam, downing, carroll, suarez, henderson will all play full seasons and think we'll hit the 70 point mark this season. thats only 12 points more than last season and should be enough for champions league football.

To claim we are worse off than last year is utterly absurd. However, not being completely convinced of the signings is excusable- I need them to convince me myself. Will be interesting (& hopefully very exciting) watching them though.
                                3rd place. Worst champions ever.
