He cost us £20m. He was a little above average in the 2nd half of the season. For a whole season and a half before that he was garbage. Not only that, there was a distinct lack of effort. That's the reason he gets a load of stick. Even when he was played in his natural position he was pants.

Henderson is totally different for me. Still young. Yeah we overpaid for him but at least he puts in the effort, even though Kenny played him out of position.

i long for the day when i can look at the team and not see any weak links that need to be pointed at.

it is all well and good having a couple of great players, and a few average players, but the poor players kind of cancel out the great ones and bring down the standard of our team.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I pretty much agree. In his first season he was not good enough at all, but last year he did ok when called upon and certainly did what was asked by his manager without complaint. He seems to have a good amount of respect for the club and wants to fight for his place, good for him I reckon. The fee we spent and the wages he was offered were not his fault.

I wouldn't be gutted if we sold him of course, but some of the comments made about him are quite unpleasant and do our fanbase no credit at all. Not the 'Liverpool way' imo to abuse anyone who pulls on the red shirt and doesn't disrespect the club, however meaningless that concept may be these days.

The effort thing is a very subjective opinion, especially made from the stands. Thinking he isn't good enough and should be sold I have no issue with anyway. It is the outright abuse (of any player) which is beneath us, imo anyway.

A player who wants to leave is adored, one that wants to play is abused.

            Funny old game innit

He gives balance to the side and puts a hell of a shift in covering for the fullbacks. He's not flash but he's a good player who'd I'd keep.

Another way of looking at it is...a player who has been world class in a Red shirt is adored, and one who has been largely pants is not popular.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Yeah I know that and on balance I'd rather have a team of miserable wantaways than a team of Downings

I dont think I've been overly insulting towards him. Was never for his signing but he has been worse than I thought he would be. Granted he was decent in latter half of the season. But frankly, he is 28 years old and was beyond poor for 18 months of his LFC career. At a cost of 20m for an International 'prem proven' player, it isnt good enough

But you have referred to Suarez as a 'rat' and a 'goofy cunt'

Terribly insulting isn't it. Would not have referred to looks like that if it were a ladygirl

                              This was about Downing, no?

The rat and goofy references to Suarez are just tongue-in-cheek. Not meant seriously
