I like Downing, feel he is a valuable player for the team, but I want to see more from him, he really could do with a goal or two.

That means that Downing must perform straight away. We can afford to wait on Henderson a couple of years.

How long time have Downing left at his peak? Say two or three years. That means that if he need time to settle then much of his peak time will be gone.

Henderson isn't expected to reach his peak until five or six years time.

It will take some time for him to gel.

He was unlucky not to score and had few assists but he is a much better player than what he demonstrated so far.

Wasn't my top pick but he gives us options on either flank that we didn't have in ages.
