Mate. I agree that Abramovich is likely to be open to offers but a/ Torres' best years are past him, b/ Nobody at LFC wants him back and c/ Chelsea would still want decent poke for him (£20m+)

Torres is the kind of player who needs to be loved like he was when he was here in order to perform. I don't think it would be too bad an option to bring him back as long as it's at the right price. I'm not saying he will be back to his best but he could be a very decent acquisition (again at the right price tho...)

we need a striker who can score goals. fsgs philosophy of buying young players with potential wont be adhered to because weve already got a 35m young striker on the bench who isnt doing the business.

we need someone experienced who can score regularly. david villa is too old, fernando llorente is too simiar to carroll and there wont be too many others available in january either.

the difference is that torres is available and is quality. he has class and his chelsea spell isnt the real torres. it hasnt worked out and chelsea should cut their losses and sell. only russian clubs will pay top money for torres and he wont be playing for makachakala whatever.

ten mill upfront, another ten variable. he would score bucket fulls for us.
