As a decent, intelligent squad player.

Granted he's over-priced for the bench but the at the time we bought him Rodgers had to get his philosophy (and philosophers) in quickly at a premium.

We are now reaping some rewards of that philosophy if not from the philosophers directly.
    One tit for another.

I don't get this 'overpriced for the bench' idea that some people have. Not just picking on you here Chief as others have said similar about Borini and Downing.

We've been crying out for squad depth for years, now all of a sudden people are complaining that we're spending too much on squad players. It makes no sense whatsoever to me!

          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Spending more money on a player than they're worth is a bad thing whatever role they are bought for isn't it?

He was the worst I've seen. Couldn't control simple passes, seemed to have no control over the weight of his passes, and basically just ran around booting people. I was better than him.

I don't think I ever saw Diao live though.

Seriously, the Bolton game he mis-hit a good 80% of his passes, properly knocking them 10 or 15 yards away from their intended targets. He was absolutely diabolical.

Actually I do remember Diao's passing game.

He'd absolutely **** the ball at a team-mate standing only yards away and then look shocked when the missile wasn't controlled.

                    Happy days.
