Saw the 2nd half and he won motm. Wasn't great but did his job despite two noticeable dodgy sideways passes. No surprise Finland scored through the gap left when he was subbed off. Poor decision from Coleman.

The bit on 35 seconds is exactly what we have been lacking, Allen breaks the line bringing the ball out, Lucas can't do that anymore.

I'm not saying Allen will solve all our problems (he'd definitely help with a few of them) but we desperately need a mobile defensive/sitting midfielder that can bring the ball out and commit players.

I can see your point, but in all fairness he brings the ball 15 yards and then plays a backwards pass to the right back.

I really do hope he can improve, and I'm sure he's got it, but whether we'll actually see it with us i'm not so sure.

you often see him intercept or tackle and win the ball, then pass to a player who isnt 'open' and then possession is lost. allens stats will show ball won, pass completed, but not the fact that he has put the team back under pressure.

this may be down to the lack of mobility and awareness of his team mates, but its well worth considering, and then watch the video again.

In fairness he always looks to pass right away to the closest open player as he doesn't dwell on the ball.

Cut our losses and sell. He's never going to be a regular and he can't be relied upon as backup. Not saying he was particularly poor today but he's not good enough.

Average player alright... might still get decent money for him. Safe buy by Rodgers when he came in & just hasn't worked out for him.

It's not woeful but it is very ordinary that's for sure & needs to be addressed. Allen & Hendo will never be good enough for the first team and Lucas & Gerrard have struggled this season.

Gerrard has been mediocre this season at best. Lucas has had good games and bad games. Joe Allen is useless, Luis Alberto is a non-factor. I think our central midfield is well below par.
