That was his first touch too.It was great.Originally posted by Pablo1981 View PostThat curling pass he fizzed around the back of their player last night was a thing of beauty. You can tell he has talent, he just needs to believe in himself. He came on last night with the bit between his teeth. He needs to do that more.

Yep it was his first touch but prior to that he did that lovely dummy before getting the ball back. I'm pretty much prepared to write Aspas off - not cool, I knowOriginally posted by G View PostThat was his first touch too.It was great.
- but I really think Alberto has got it and would be disappointed if he doesn't have a future with us.

He definitely has the air of someone with a lot of potential. He looks assured and has a great eye for a lay off or through ball. That ball with thoutside of his boot which was pretty much his first touch was brilliant.
Interesting where it leaves Suso though, given that you'd assume he is the player most similair in type to Coutinho. Alberto does look good as a Coutinho alternative though. Hope he doesn't go all Pacheco on us.

Rodgers says he still has Luis Alberto in his plans despite difficult debut campaign for young Spaniard
Luis was signed with future in mind, says Rodgers
Brendan Rodgers admits £6m man Luis Alberto has had a “difficult” debut campaign at Liverpool FC.
But the Reds boss insists the youngster was signed with the long-term in mind, and has backed the Spaniard to play a part at Anfield in the future.
Alberto, signed from Sevilla last summer, has made a total of 12 appearances this season, but is yet to start a Premier League game.
His last outing was an 11-minute cameo as a substitute in the 4-0 win over Everton back in January.
Since then, he has twice been an unused sub, but has not featured in any of the Reds’ last eight matchday squads.
Rodgers said: “It’s probably been a difficult season for Luis because he hasn’t had many opportunities to make an impact.
“But he needs to keep working. He’s still a very young player and he does have quality. It shows you the level of where we are at.
“It was a signing for the long term, that was the idea. He’s a young player who has come in and sampled life at a big club and made a contribution.
“He will stay with the group for the rest of the season and then we will review his development come the summer.”
Alberto has still been involved with the first-team squad on matchdays, as part of his development. But Rodgers admitted the emergence of players such as Joao Carlos Teixeira, who made his league debut for the Reds in February, had increased competition for places, even on the bench.
He said: “I look at training and assess it every day. Luis is working hard but we’ve had young players coming in and making an impact like Joao, who has been exceptional. I’m always looking at the dynamic of the squad and it changes from week to week depending on the game.”
Alberto is not the only Spaniard to struggle to make an impact at Anfield this season. Iago Aspas cost £7.7m from Celta Vigo last July, but the 26-year-old has not started a league game since New Year’s Day.
“I really feel for Iago,” added Rodgers. “It’s been so difficult for him. He has a world-class striker in Luis Suarez for competition and another who has come in and done exceptionally well in Daniel Sturridge. Daniel is potentially world class and I’m sure we will see that over the coming seasons.
“But that has never stopped Iago working well every day in training. He has never given up the fight. He may have only come on for small periods in games but he has made a contribution
“I’ve got the utmost respect for Iago and his professionalism. He keeps working, he has a great character and mentality.
“We will see where we’re at with him come the summer.”Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

two poor weird signings for me. Just can't understand them - they've given nothing.
i know you need a decent squad. but they've only started a few games between so their impact if you like has been minimum...
personally, for the job they've provided - which has just been primarly to be a sub and come on with 10 mins to go when a game is won, to give someone a rest, then we had players already here who could do that......
for alberto - signed for £6.8m - surely Suso/Teix could have done what he has for the season.
For Aspas - signed for £7.7m - surely, Borini, Ibe and even Assaidi would have pretty much offered the same, if not more.
£14.5m spent on nothing really. I just can't see any logic in those signings. Not having a moan about it as such - top of the league, we can't moan
- but they just seem very very strange. Just signed for the sake of signing....for example....had we kept suso and assaidi and not signed alberto/aspas - we'd have £14.5 saved and arguably be in the same position
Alberto, though at least he looked like a footballer, has a bit of ability and at 21 has a career ahead of him.....
Aspas though -
well you all know my thoughts on him
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do
