Galliard: "Some Liverpool fans were to blame and some other Liverpool fans were the victims of some other Liverpool fans"

Aside from ignoring the flare issue in the main square, from what i saw, i'd agree with him.

UEFA seem to 'hope' that they have a final of two footballing teams (such as Lyon etc.) who have only about 17000 fans. It must change but it won't!

There is no excuse for it. But one thing leads to another. I think the way UEFA allocated such a poor excuse of a number of tickets months ago put people in such a desperate position. Football's come a long way for tickets to cost up to 4000 Euros. It's a ****ing joke.

Hmm, I'm very uncomfortable with that attitude.

Without pointing out the obvious, once they decided the stadium was full they stopped fans with genuine tickets from getting in. How is that any different from stealing the ****ing ticket?!

Not sure what I think about forgeries - some people would have bought them in good faith, but presumably quite a few people also went in knowing they were fake.
who knows? if you bought a forgery for 600 quid yer a tit though aren't you.

reports leading up to the game said you couldn't tell the difference unless you had a ticket already to compare it to.

ultimately, 40,000 tickets gone to LFC would have meant no problems.

so **** UEFA. they are the chief criminals here.

seems to me, UEFA put little effort into producing good tickets which would be hard to forge. UEFA have alot to answer for IMO.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                      * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

So thinking about fan safety, and thinking it's wrong to prevent other fans watching the game is 'righteous'?!

                          Ok.

Well the solution is simple. Pin an RFID chip to each ticket and correspond it to your credit card details. Then if the ticket presented doesn't match up or doesn't have one then it gets rejected.

I'm sure they could also scan a picture of your mug on there too. It would stop touts and fakers.

*An RFID is one of those tiny chips that cost about $0.00001 and tell Marks & Spencer that you've nicked their stuff without paying *
