Thanjk you.

Bridge? Remind me again how many games he misses.
Cole? See above - and hasn't played well for a couple of years now.
Clichy? Scores how many goals exactly?
Zambrotta? He'd get ripped in the EPL. He's an excellent footballer but defensively is average at best.
Lahm. I'll give you that - but we've no chance of getting him.
I bleedin' hope JAR is reading this as I'm fighting his corner like wounded dog here !!!
Sorry, mate.
Riise is a squadie, that's it.

Why am I defending him you mean?
Because I don't reckon he's half as bad as some people make out and when I look at the possible replacements - there aren't many that I would say (hand on heart) that I'd prefer to JAR - given that he brings versatility and goals along with his left back skills.
He's better than that IMO. As I've said before - with the exception of Lahm (and possibly Puerta) who would you have before him? Maybe it has something to do with the dearth of decent left backs in the game as well.

i think he meant why can't we get him...

Ah so its not that he's any good just the best we can get (now thats irony).

Zambro is a hell lot better defensively than you give him credit for Les! I would kill to get Zambro. Not sure how he will fare in the prem that's true but he has the capacity to hurt almost any team in the world when used right. Plus he can play on either side! But we'll never get him. He'll stay with Barca or head home to Italy - either back to Juve or perhaps to Milan. Lahm is great, no question, but once again, the adjustment to the prem is still a question is it not? From that list though, barring those two though I wouldn't give up JAR. He's improved tremendously defensively under Rafa and has a great engine and never ever ever stops running. He also chips in with some important goals. And he loves Liverpool.
Simple way to luck at it, it's not a problem position for us, so when we've got a player to oust JAR then it's a good day for LFC, but at the moment it certainly wouldn't be a priority which makes me doubt this story slightly
People saying they prefer Risse to Bridge and Ashley Cole need their head examing in my opinion. I like my full backs to be able to defend. Risse has shown time and again he cannot.

doesn't appear to be terribly detrimental to our goals against tho does it
It would be even better if we had a finnan clone on the left side. People speak about his goals etc. but how many did he have last season including assists? Prob less than Finnan who is much more solid and reliable

Well Finnan offers zero goal threat at all, but his crossing is better, but you are never going to get it totally perfect, I'd say LB is one of our least problematic positions at the moment, certainly three or four higher priorities on the pitch
I don't mean to nitpick, and I hope I don't sound arsey mentioning it but it's just driving me insane for some reason lol - you keep writing his name Risse instead of Riise. Like I say don't mean to be picky it's just making me go a bit nuts

Spot on. And when that day does come, we keep Riise as the second choice.
If Riise would stay then we would offer him a new deal. We have not done that so far.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
