Owen is exactly what we need. We've brought in new forwards but we still don't have an out-and-out goal-scorer.

For £9m, he would be a steal.

It won't happen now, because Owen has said he's staying at Newcastle, which is a great ****ing shame.

I don't see Owen running 30 yards without breaking at least 1 foot.

I dont think thats a fact mate at least not according to relatives of Owen

Owens injury last year knackered any chances of him joining Liverpool and its why we wont go after him this summer either

id be happy to have him for 9mill and I bet (injuries allowing) hed play the majority of games...could see a torres/owen strikeforce working well personally.

          More chance of Henry though!!!!

Can't see us bringing him back tbh. I also think if Allardyce sold him voluntarily it would be complete madness on his part.

I do wonder if we have got an out and scorer in our squad though, hope I'm wrong!

if you like owen or not does not matter.

the reason why we wont sign him or even think about is he is injured too much.

no matter how good you are if you are always injured your not going to produce.

so a fit owen yes he is worth £Millions. but the current owen is worth next to nothing as he never plays.

i dont know why people cant seem to see that.

Owen is technically available until midnight tomorrow for 9 million. Good value?

Rafa did try and sign him last year for a similar amount of money. FACT.

Arguably the game v Pompey and the comments after the game by Rafa and the players indicate a frustration still exists about how we are not taking our chances. Fact is we still do not possess an out and out goalscorer do we?
It may be a long shot, but I would not be surprised if we make our move very soon in his direction...

Cue torrent of abuse and one liners......
Owen in no stretch of the imagination can be described as a an out and out goalscorer, unless you mean "out" as in injured :whatever:

it makes me laugh on here sometimes peoples opinions etc and I suppose that's half the fun & why I come on here daily if not to post then to at least read.

But then there's subjects that make me cringe and the Owen one is the one that really makes my skin crawl.

What happens on here and on KT in the past as well I guess is that (especially under the Benitez era) people come on here and moan, none stop for months about how we have NO ONE who scores goals.

So we then mention Michael Owen as a possible replacement. Now fair enough people don't want him back cause of the way he f*cked us about- fair enough and honestly, I really don't blame you.

But to come on here and say with such conviction that he ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH, just shows that there are too many people that just don't watch football at all on these forums.

Here's a "FACT!" Despite his injury record which IS poor, apart from last season when he was abscent all season he still looks more dangerous and has scored more goals every season than any of our forwards have managed since the little **** himself actually moved on.

Actually i'm not 100% on that goal scoring stat from 2005-06 when he come back to England but I think he got at least 8 that season before he was injured. which is i think only one less than Cisse in the league for that season.

Anyway in short since he left we've started up front with no less than 5 different strikers and ONE of them has bettered him since he left and that was because Owen himself missed half a season.

If you don't want him back cause you hate what he did to us then fine, thats your call and one I certainly can relate to if not agree with but to just not rate him as a footballer? Deary me!

Owen is a little turd who doesn't deserve a second chance to play for LFC. HOWEVER, an injury free Owen would be a steal at 9 million quid. Problem is, he'll never ever be injury free.

Anyway, Owen has the smell of Manc about him. I'm convinced he'll move to the Mancs before the end of his injury ravaged career.

Owen was dangerous when he had speed, since 2002/3 his speed has disappeared as a result of countless injuries. FACT

Buying a 2002/3 or earlier Owen model would be a steal, buying a post 2002/3 model he isnt worth the cash even if you payed with monopoly money

Jacko there are two reasons not to want him

                            1. He ****ed us about twice. Once i can understand he carried the team wanted to win things and we didnt look good enough towards the end of houlliers reign. but to **** us again now that showed he didnt desperately want to play for us
                            2. his injury record. yes lets ignore last season. i dont understand why we dont ignore the terrible injuries he has just had when looking at his injury record.
