Had to sit through that with a Man utd fan.

Pure and simple, Rafa should stick to those we trust in the big games. This was a big game.

When your team is struggling you stick your best 11 on the park and trying and get them to get back to winning ways

Playing Leto and Crouch was not clever at all. I mean why try a new pairing up front in a champions league game? Why the hell is Leto starting a match against a top french team? He wasnt even convincing against Tolouse

Sissoko was awful, as was Benayoun who should be a sub always

Where was Kuyt, Babel, Mascher and Riise???????????

Carragher looked tired, i layed into Rafa for his team selection against Reading and i was proved right today

These days, a good performance doesn't mean you'll be in the first team for a few weeks either!

Houllier always went on about how we were the most attacking team in the league even though it was clear we weren't. Houllier wouldn't drop **** players, Rafa drops good players never mind **** players

Only similarity I can see is that of playing players out of position, but even that is tenuous.
          True.

but I would say the most glaringly obvious comparision is that both managers are incredibly defence minded. But there's no doubt that Rafa is 10 times the manager GH ever was.

Rafa won two leagues with Valencia and a CL with us amongst other things. He must know something.
You can agree with me, or you can be wrong.

                    That is so true.

In a crazy kind of way maybe we just have too many good players, if that is possible.

Absolutely. I never said he didn't.

That is so true. But right now Rafa deserves every bit of criticism coming his way, as do the players.

Who have won 1 in their 1st 9 games.
In the last four games Rafa selected teams which should easily beat the opposition
.Problem is our players have forgotten how to pass a ball.
Rafa can not legislate for poor individual performances from our "World Class" players.

Sorry mate but this is really poo. Why do we always assume that the manager is some sort of jedi who sees some great big grand picture that is somehow more important than winning the current game.

He had 3 changes he was allowed to make.

He identified one of the key problems in the post match interview, so why not address it during the game itself. What bigger plan was he dealing with?

none of you c*nts has commented on my Dalek picture yet. That took me f*ckin ages that did, and it used up all of my best photoshop skills.

No, that would be silly. Don't do it mate.

But we've never played decent, flowing, nice football under Rafa the likes of which you'd see produced weekly by our rivals, and as long as results have held up ok - although never to the degree to mount a league challenge - we've all been happy enough, me included.

But it looks to me like Rafa is never going to change, he doesn't know how to get teams to play real football and now that results look like slipping and we're in a bit of a rut, I'm genuinely despondent about the rest of the year. Rafa put himself under alot of pressure by looking for money and he now has players entirely of his own choosing in the squad, and if anything we're worse.

I can't see how anyone would be positive.
