The players need to regroup and regain some confidence. That's the most difficult part. If we lose that, we'll be struggling and out of the title race soon.
Team was too deep, i blame Hyypia with his lack of pace, meaning the team has to compensate by playing deep and not giving enough support to the front men.
    We come not to play.

      Spot on.

We still lack a wide man who can create something from nothing and a real out-and-out goalscorer (other than Torres) who may pinch one when necessary.

Another reason to stop f*cking about with the team. The 1st time we leave Arbeloa out and we lose. Too much hoofing and no control. We've now had more poor displays than decent ones this season. 10-12 games in - still in it. But as a quarter term report.....could do better..much better.

Spurs will be bouncing after coming back against the Brummies. I don't expect a brilliant performance against them

spurs and everton back to back, 2 points from 6 if we are lucky and continue playing this way

MOMO WAS DREADFUL, truly awful....a player has to be dropped after a performance like that, its really simple, Hyypia was ok, his lack of pace made us defend very deep and midfield was terrible. No kneejerk as im too long in the tooth for that but heres my action points over the next 6 months, some immediately, some in jan....buy a pacier c.b, loan leto out for a season, drop stevie, ALWAYS play masch and torres, drop from a height momo, buy another striker, only play benny as a sub, buy another right winger, buy another left winger, play pennant more (ffs i cant believe im saying that), play a more attacking style!

That just about covers it i think................

Rafa should have come out and apologised to the fans after that pile of ****.

While I agree with other posters stating that we miss the distribution that Alonso and Agger supply, I question how much more effective we would have been with them in the squad. The lack of touch on display from the entire team bothered me more than anything. Good passes mean squat when the receiving player will fail to control it.

We've been crap for a few games now, we've been fortunate not to have lost before tonight.

                    team looks bloody clueless.

Bloody Rafa with his defence 1st attitude, never going to win the Premiership like that.
It was Babel that said that Rafa has only told him what to do when defending, he has given him no advice about attacking. I can only presume that this is the same with all of the players.

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

We just don't play to our creative player's strengths. I hate the footie we play, it's f*cking embarrassing. Technically we're complete sh!te and we keep playing these sh!te long balls to no one.

Honestly, I'm sick to death of watching ****e football. Watching pathetic players like Momo who can't even pass a ball from A to B just makes me sick. Most of our players were rubbish today but he took the biscuit. 1 good game in 5 doesn't cut it...and Rafa' reaction to the goal which was gifted by Momo tells me that he won't be starting a match for a very long time to come.

We've been crap for weeks now and I have a feeling we're going to get cuffed by Spurs over the weekend.

It's our first defeat of the season, how we respond will be key.

You know in a perverse way it could be the best thing that could've happened at this juncture. ****in reality check time for everyone. Rafa included. Performances have been poor and everyone needs to get their arse in gear.

First big test of the season. Think we'll bounce back and **** Spurs.
Thats the sainest and most relevant post I have read tonight.

We were woeful and not one player can take any credit for anything tonight but if thats the worst we play this season I'll take it.

                              It wasn't just that.

We didn't close them down fast enough, gave them far too much space.

                              And our passing was awful.

If we had got those two things right we wouldn't be talking about Hyypia as a problem because we would have won.

Marseille are very average. It is embarassing how good we made them look.

It helps that we'll have Babel, Mascherano and Arbeloa back in the side against Spurs (you'd think), bascially better players.

Sissoko got found out tonight for me, big time. Fine if it's the Nou Camp away and you want him to run all over the shop shielding midget playmakers, but at home when you want someone to use the ball constructively. No way.
