Having Sissoko beside him completely negates SG's attacking abilities, and he often finds himself sitting back having to cover the scraps.

Mascherano should have come on at half time.
Rafas management style is to give his players a chance to put things right. wrong decision!!

The Reading game was just kamakaze football. When we play teams that know how to defend we are stumped. The International break was weeks ago. It doesn't seem to have bothered Arsenal. Why are we still harking back to it? I see loads of excuses but none of them can explain our tactics.
Do you feel it's tactics Al ? I don't think so. Too many players out of form and probably rotation is a bit hard to take for some of the new players.

Listen I am with the lot of you it was a terrible night. We have lost some very important players through injury and its effects are showing. The frenchies were playing there first game for a new manager tonight and the new manager effect was in full flow as for comparably as we were **** they played out of there skins tonight.
Bad games aside, we win our game in hand and we are in 2nd in the Lg, we have only conceded one goal in open play and Torres got his first hat trick last week. News of our demise has been greatly exaggerated.
We are having a bad patch, but if we can come through it and still be in 2nd place in the Lg well that speaks volumes ..

Very poor tonight, I hate to say it but Andy Gray called it right. Not enough pressing high up the pitch, not enough enery, too many player didn't turn up. Sissoko was very poor losing the ball far too much, as was Leto first half. I think Rafa got his tactics wrong, we should have played Masher and got Babel on to offer some goal threat as we were struggling to break them down.

Fair play to Marseille, they played very well. Looks like Zenden gave the new manager a lot of inside info and they also got a lot of time to plan the way they wanted to set up.

Well I'm gonna finish my vino and go to bed and try to forget about this game.
Gerrard was ****! has been since he insisted on playing for England with a broken toe.
              We come not to play.

Why doesn't that Leiva get his chance? Bring in Pacheco if we are missing a finisher, he looks the dogs bollocks, Fowler and Owen were introduced at a young age, so why not?!

Probably a major overreaction, but I wouldn't care if Momo never kicked a ball for us ever again. Sometimes he just looks like a long distance runner who somehow landed on a football pitch. Everyone was **** tonight. Rafa has to stop this.

Those same players didn't look out of form a few weeks back. As people said during the game why did we have all our players back for their corners. Where is our attacking game? That is tactics.

Mascherano should have played instead of Momo, whose inability to pass or even retain the ball is only the ears of the hippo. That was woeful and it wasn't an isolated game. We have been scoring a goal every other game for weeks and if anything we are getting less threatening as we go along. Bereft of ideas going forward, we look like a team that are playing for penalties from the outset. Rotation isn't to blame since we have tried just about the whole squad now and none of them know what to do. Is our excessively cautious approach is undermining the confidence of the team?

It's clear we're struggling at the moment. Too many players out of form. It's not the end of the world by a long shot but we have it all to do. Never seen as bad a performance by a Liverpool team.
If Porto won does that mean there are no positives?

Agree we haven't been playing well, but imploding? Imploding is your season's over and no more chance of silverware.

It's our first defeat of the season, how we respond will be key.

You know in a perverse way it could be the best thing that could've happened at this juncture. ****in reality check time for everyone. Rafa included. Performances have been poor and everyone needs to get their arse in gear.

First big test of the season. Think we'll bounce back and **** Spurs.

Crouch dropping in to the Midfield, playing the lightweight Benayoun and Leto, not buying a centre back to replace Hyypia, The buck stops with Rafa.

Bloody Rafa with his defence 1st attitude, never going to win the Premiership like that.
We're not a defensive team but we didn't show up and have been doing that the last 6 games. It's strange but we should have been losing more than 1 game during that time, so our solidity managed to win us 2 games.

The players need to regroup and regain some confidence. That's the most difficult part. If we lose that, we'll be struggling and out of the title race soon.
