Fergie doesn`t put his full team out every game Kaip. Some players need a rest.the team against Wigan had thier chances,Dunne and kirkland had excellent games. We were unlucky.ManUre scraped through the Brum game,we got a draw at 11 man defense Wigan.

That David Johnson quote made me laugh out loud. Everything's great. It's just the results that aren't going our way. Just the results eh. Well at least it's nothing important

Footballers can be piss funny at times

Sidenote: He ruffled my hair in Lime Street Station when I was 7yo. I was coming back from the Chelsea Liverpool game at Stamford Bridge and the Liverpool team was on our train so I dashed over to talk to him and David Fairclough. I wanted to know if Fairclough had received the 21st birthday card I'd sent him. He said he had. I now believe that this was a white lie

Fergie has earned the right to manage Premier League campaigns as he sees fit. Rafa has yet to do that.

Maybe Fergie had the same problems as rafa in his 1st 7 yrs.

Maybe fergie should forget managing CL campaigns after his record in the last 7 yrs.

Maybe when Fergie wants a player, any player he gets them.

Rafa wanted Alves,Simao,Quaresma,Ronaldo and Malouda in the last three seasons.

Maybe you should support ManUre if you worship Fergie so much.

I don`t see much support of LIVERPOOL FC from you.

Over the last 15 years we've had two of the finest strikers in the modern era of football at the club. Torres could soon be classed in such a category. It means **** all if the rest of the team isn't good enough and managed well enough. Just ask Alan Shearer.

Can we just look at the Ferguson point for a moment seeing as many people are quick to use it as a basis for being patient.

It may interest you to know that since the turn of the millenium no team that has won the league in Spain, England or Italy did so with a manager that had been at the club for more than 3 years prior to them winning their first title. To put it another way - all the managers that have won the league in those nations either joined the team 3 or less seasons prior to winning the league or were at the club for longer than that time and had won the title with the team before (Ferguson for example, who went 3 seasons without winning it before last season). If you include Germany then that number rises to one (Thomas Schaaf at Bremen), two if you include France (Denouiex at Nantes), but these leagues are not generally considered to be as robust at Spain, England and Italy in recent years.

Considering I'm talking about the modern era and not the football of 20 years ago when Ferguson was cutting his teeth at Utd I think this statistic is worth taking seriously as it strongly suggests that if a team is going to win the title under a new man the best chance it has is within 2-3 years of them taking charge. After that it seems the chance is remote, if any.

Sorry, it was meant to be a reply to the David Johnson quote where he says we should be confident of success because we have Torres.

Forget faith, he's a man not the messiah. Time to judge on results and signs of improvement, which have been there at times this season, but there are still huge fundamental flaws in his methods that just spending more money won't fix.

It's four seasons down the line and we still have no real tried and tested system and way of playing. Each game is different and his eccentricity and over complicated methods are the root cause of the inconsistancy. I fear, though, that he won't change.

...."Any team that concedes as few goals as we concede is going to be tough to play against..." - Fernando Torres on Liverpool

And when I say 'play Gerrard on the left', I mean on the left

                            A defensive mid for £18m?

And that is the only way that I will have faith - if he changes some of his methods.

Your right about the tried and tested method of playing, teams that have recently have won the league, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester united all play with a set system. It is very rare that they will alter things - a minor tweak here or there. Nothing so drastic as what happened down at Reading. None of those teams overcomplicate their systems: playing Wigan, Birmingham, Reading, Derby should be a challenge but not difficult games given the players we have. but we seem to shoot ourselves in the foot by possibly over-planning for those games (if that is possible) and using elaborate systems, putting players in unfamiliar roles (Crouch out wide!!!! when you have Babel on the bench seemed ludicrous).

On th plus side I do like th e shake up our youth system appears to have had - now some of them have to start breaking through however!

                                Aye, but nobbut just.

We need to cut out the negativity & overanalysing & just let lose (in playing terms that is, not by farting lots).
                                3rd place. Worst champions ever.
