Well he's a journo and is bound to have his sources isn't it ? If he's painted something based on what he knows, why stop it from reaching the public domain.

It's not something which has come in isolation isn't it ? So many articles have been pointing at the same thing since then.

Well, what difference does that make if it's true?

Personally I think it's highly likely there is some truth in all the stories about financial weakness at LFC. I think Rafa saw this as early as last May, hence his outburst which did at least force some heavy spending before the last minute (even though a fair bit was recouped in sales).

Given the way these venture capitalists operate, the US credit squeeze can only have had a negative effect.

Having said that, I don't think Hicks and Gillett's problems are ours unless Rafa leaves, either because he's sacked or walks due to insufficient funds.

Naturally any more delays in building the new stadium aren't going to help us in the medium-term either.

I do think Reade might be going over the top in some of the detail and it's almost inevitably sensationalised (he is a journalist and it is The Mirror after all) but to dismiss it as wholly inaccurate might well be wishful thinking.

As for whether it's unhelpful to publish the story (if it's true), I really don't think you can blame Reade or The Mirror for that.
      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

So he has, and I think it's terrible for the reasons stated.

        Got a problem with that?

Well I don't have a problem with your opinion. Do you have with mine ?

In any case, I think it's pointless debating on these terms.

It intensifies the pressure within the club (if it's true) which is unhelpful.

Yes well I didn't dismiss it as wholly inaccurate, I dismissed the ending as being inaccurate, the rest I claimed was scare-mongering, polarised and unjustified. Inaccurate is a different matter.

I don't blame anyone, I don't buy the claim that Reade woudl never writ something that damages the club, and anyone who does believe that is living in cloud cuckoo land. He's a journalist for a **** newspaper who's written a terrible article, same ****, different day.

No it's not fredo, not until it's built and paid for

No I don't I have a problem with you claiming that I was making assumptions and then failing to justify your position and then failing to accept or even apologise for your error.

But I won't lose any sleep over it

The club's PR needs to do it's job better than what they're offering us at the moment.

Remaining silent on such issues is hardly gonna dispel the doubts.

And more, they've been saying for months that investment would be in place and we're still waiting. News of refinancing debts against the club etc ... when it was stated that it wasn't to be the case since the beginning.

The proof in the pudding is in the eating ultimately. I would be the first to acknowledge that I was wrong if they're coming before us with something sound for the long term which wouldn't be to the detriment to this club.

I've just stated that you're claiming he's assuming with another assumption.

The club has made CLEAR statements on the issues between Rafa and the owners. Why should they keep saying it everytime some nobhead journalist has run out of lies to make up?

Rafa needed to get rid of a lot of players and that means that he couldn't go for quality over quantity the first years. He had to secure that we would qualify for the CL every season or we would really be ****ed.

Now is the time when he really can start to go for quality because he now have a good enough squad to qualify for the CL and can start to plan to make a title winning squad.

That means that he must be backed for his first choice targets even if they cost £20m+.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Your english is very good fredo but I was not claiming anything with an assumption.
Still you refuse to recognise that.

Have you got any evidence that Rafa hasn't been backed?
