if you look at the bigger picture, rafa must be well pissed off though. He has turned down "his" club real madrid and inter milan to stay loyal to us. Rafa must be pissed off because loyalty is a 2 way thing and when we never had the financial muscle, he made do with what the club could give him (the likes of crouch as opposed to villa) but now that we have the cash, then rafa should be backed 100% for his previous loyalty. At least when we didnt have the financial muscle, rafa had 100% control....
It would not surprise me if rafa ****ed off and left in the summer if real madrid, milan or bayern gave him total control of one of those clubs.... the thing is, those clubs are unlikely to do that because of their presidents (maybe bayern to a lesser extent)
as for maureen replacing rafa, maybe he could win us the league.....he would certainly motivate players big time but we would go back to a houllier-type way of playing football - with basically 7 or 8 men behind the ball at all times.....
regardless of who is in charge next season, we need another 3 top players at least to win it. There have been posters on this thread who have suggested that we have the players (2 internationals for every position) to win the league and that tactics are leaving us down. Personally i believe we are punching above our weight for a long time... i mean with the top 3 teams in the EPL, which of our players would, realistically, get into their first 11.....
Gerrard and torres would get into any team
reina would get into the arsenal line up....maybe mancs too
mascherano would get into the arsenal team over flamini and the manc team over hargreves
maybe agger and alonso would get into one of their sides as well but its very debatable - depends on the manager and form
thats it though - the likes of arbeloa, bennayoun, kewell, pennant, even carragher, riise, aurelio, kuyt, crouch, voronin, sissoko would not get ****in near their teams......and that is the sad truth....
the one thing we do have going for us is that our team is a very young team and with continuity, and the right additions, are going to get better and better....but will we get continuity.....not if these pricks sack rafa???

I tend to agree with your assessment in the bits I've highlighted. (I think you make some good points elsewhere too but that's another issue I think).
.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

There is a lot of hypocrisy on the net. People moan at others for not supporting players yet the possibility of a new manager (JM or JK) on the horizon and people are not going to support him until he wins and maybe not at all. I will support whatever manager is put in place if Rafa leaves or is sacked. To do otherwise is akin to what fans at Newcastle, Chelsea and the like do.

A true leader is inspirational, Rafa may be technically gifted, but do you see him as someone who can inspire and motivate that extra edge from the team ? I think a Fergie or Mourinho builds more affinity with their players than the stand offish methods used by Rafa. Also the language shortfall does not help.
Theres lots of G&H speculation, very few facts, who knows what is really right or wrong on that side, i would guess they could be holding back to see and learn before diving into more spend head first. Or they could be broke :-)

i see what you are trying to say - you see mourinho or fergie as a more motivator than rafa..... i do not agree though.....they simply appear to be by being animated on the sidelines...nobody knows, apart from the players, what his teamtalks in the dressing rooms are like....
at the end of the day, can you honestly say, over his time here, with the resources he has had, that anybody else would have done a better job than rafa??? i dont think so.
cast your mind back to half time on the 25/05/05 and im sure you might reassess your opinion

Well, it fits in with that the same story, more or less a copy word by word, is in almost every paper.
That usually means that someone have leaked the info.
Tom said a few weeks ago that Moores is very worried and now thinks that it was a mistake to sell to G&H.
I don't know if I got 2+2=5 or 2+2=4.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

One swallow does not a summer make and theres lots of other things that occurred at that game if you remember too he was so lost in the moment that we almost fielded the incorrect nr of players after half time... I have met many inspirational people in my time, they just give off a certain aura, i don't see that in Rafa to be honest. I dont think the language helps either as he cannot express himself freely.
