so Rashid you think the deal will still go through despite what hicks has said? What your source said?

Just had a horrible horrible thought, what if Hick's statement is just the prelude to others to come, maybe they can't come to agreement on the price & DIC have said enough is enough, Hick's is just getting in 1st as if to say 'I was never selling, what's all this crap about me selling.' I really hope not for my sanity's sake.

I am shocked at his statement given I heard he had agreed to sell at the right price. I don't get it at all.

You can match that or I'm selling up" .

In short, if George doesnt play the game then we are hosed.
I totally agree with you Jim... That is the only way this whole thing can be resolved... But like I said I don't feel Gillett has the balls to do that, but I really hope I am wrong!!!

It makes sense though. If he is in negotiation with them it doesn't serve his purpose to admit it - just stonewall it until the deal is complete. If he isn't then I suppose he is telling the truth. Either way he would say exactly that.

Is this new press release from hicks another ploy, is he stoking the fire so it enrages the fans even more and gets a bigger reaction for tomorrow nights protest with the worlds media watching???

With a £100 million pounds profit on the table, he can give the impression he had the bank loans in place but the fans would not of given him time???

Why would he need to find an excuse? A cool multi-million pound profit is all a businessman needs.

He's using words like the DIC bid "Is a Complete Fabrication". He could deny it without saying there is NO bid at all, it's strange.

Rashid Hicks wants top $ for his shares (if he were to sell) But when he valued the club at 1 billion the British Press quoted the figure in Sterling and the Americans in $'s... Both The DIC and The Yanks normally make all monitrie references in $'s normally...

Maybe it was $'s and 500million pounds is around 1 Billion dollars...Being the right price... and maybe this was why the figure of DIC's proposed bid was first reported at 500 million pounds to begin with...(purely conjecture on my part, but who knows...)

                      Anway mate keep the faith...

Just a thought guys, but who actually said DIC has actually made and offer... Most press outlets said preparing a bid to present before the new loan deadline nextweek.. This could be why Hicks has come out and said no offer has been made... (just a thought like I said)...

I was thinking that, but he would know the score if Dic were in, negotiations etc, would Dic bid if there was a chance of being knocked back AGAIN, Hick's statement is dire.

To be honest I wouldn't think so... If they are really looking to make a bid then they must be almost certian of a positive out come... I also feel if this was a non starter DIC would have played down this story by now...

                            I guess time will tell..........
