see my post above, there are other kinds of value you get back from this kind of investment.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostJust a thought but if 100,000 people invest in the club aren't they going to want something out of it? Your £5k won't even get you a right to buy a season ticket! (As there wouldn't be enough seats - even in a 70k stadium)
Just posted this elsewhere:
Now I realise that I'm only speaking for myself, but in my 42 years on this planet I've developed a deep bond of attachment to the institution of Liverpool football club. I'd quite happily involve myself financially in this visionary scheme that allows us as fans to express our unconditional love for the club.
People on here talk about what they as individuals will get out of the club, to paraphrase Kennedy, "don't ask the club what it can do for you, ask yourself what you can do for your club."
I've got a lot more out of the club in terms of very significant feelings of community involvement and heightened emotions than 5k can ever pay back.
If this scheme is what I think it is, the returned value of this investment is almost beyond price - it's safeguarding our community and putting in mechanisms that will pay back enormously in terms of personal happiness and emotional well-being. **** season tickets and voting rights.
Spot on mate. My two kids are 12 and 10, I llive in Ireland, we've only been to Anfield twice and they asked me would they be able to take money from their savings accounts and put it in LFC (they've more stashed than I have).
I'm not interested in dividends, tickets, returns, I remember exactly where I was sat watching telly when we played Borussia Munchengladbach, Bruges, when the tragedies of Hillborough and Heysel unfolded.
I'm not lucky enough to be born a "scouser", I'm not lucky enough to get to Anfield regularly, but I am lucky enough to have felt part of the achievements and events of this club for over thirty years as a fan.
Shankly once told his players not to forget how lucky and honoured they should be to play for Liverpool and the people who supported the club.
I also am honoured to be a humble fan, and I will be very honoured to see my 5k go towards securing the club for millions more like me.'and boy could he play!.

If I can buy 1,000 pounds worth I would consider it, for sure. Surely they could intorduce 100 or 200 pound shares to allow more, maybe that comes later after they fill the board.

Where are the coincidences?Originally posted by MattB View PostJust an interesting set of coincidences...
DIC = quiet
Kraft = in the media again
Gillett = quiet
Government comment before plans are public
Not reading too much into it, but interesting all the same.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

**** me its dunkOriginally posted by Barnyard View PostEst! Lets do it!
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.
"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

They could offer time share season tickets.
You pay a set amount for half of the home games someone else gets the other half and you go to every other game.
I would be up for that and could probably bring in more money than a normal season ticket.**********

Where have people been over the last few months. Do you lot not know that you don't need money to buy a football club. Look at Gillett and Hicks. All bank loans....if they can do it I'm sure we Reds fans can as well
If all else fails we'll get two of us to go to RBS and ask them to lend us £350m. I'm sure they won't mind!
