but to turn down a new deal when the club and fans have supported him emotionally and financially when he is obviousley not short of a few quid is shameful. Harry knows that whilst he was injured he was being paid top money, so how about giving something back? like a show of support and strength whilst we strive for no.19, like the support and strength he has been shown.

thanks for all the gratitude shown to LFC harry, your (quite clearly) a legend in your country but for most LFC fans your actions with turning down the new deal are that of a mercenary.

Well it's easy to see it as something so simple. Personally I would of loved Harry to stay but there are a lot of reasons why he hasn't. I personally have resigned myself to the fact his body is unable to hack the pace of the premier league anymore, perhaps Harry knows this and has decided to accept a position at a club like Juve where he will probably get a longer deal for more money.

What's the point in signing a 1 year deal for ****all with us if he is not going to play **** all and when he does probably get injured again. He would also get slated if he didnt perform, which I doubt he can anymore anyway (in this league).

What pisses me off is some of the posters on here criticising Harry for turning down a contract with us would of been slating Rafa for offering him one if he did sign on

Why cant we all just let it and him go. It hasn't worked out but injuries are a part of football.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

The funny thing is, the same ****s that are saying they cant wait for the "mercenary cunt" to leave, are now the ones having a go at him for not signing the new contract.

He wouldn't even get a game next season so why would you want him hanging around the reserves, wasting what little of his career is left and perhaps taking more money from the club?

Answer = He's Harry Kewell and no matter what he did there's a moronic element of our support that would find fault with it.
          What he said.

Harry's had several operations - he's hardly ducking work with a ****e sick note.

Rafa offered him a new deal, he declined the offer. It happens. No-one's yet made public the terms of the deal but everyone seems so keen to give Harry a kicking. Sad.

Imagine if he does a u-turn and signs, this thread will be interesting.

Goodbye Harry Kewell. Get well soon.

                  .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

He's been here a long time, injuries or whatever he's proved nothing by his performances.

Rafa gave all his inherited players a chance He's had more chances than any player I can remember.

He's cost an awful lot of money for nothing when the club has been struggling for cash.

Now you question the deal he was offered to stay at the club that has made him very rich and given him every opportunity at a great stage for football talent.

He should offer to play for nothing, of course that wouldn't happen but considering his contribution to LFC he certainly owes us something to prove he's had talent that injury robbed us of.

A sad end to what looked like a good signing.

Guess the guy just wants to play football. Can't knock him for that. He's been pretty unlucky with injuries. Yeah he could have stayed but probably realised he wouldn't get many games.

Not going to have a go at him for going...you've got to do what's best for yourself at the end of the day. I wish him luck

Do you know the stipulations of his contract offer?? For all we know, Rafa could have told him he wont play many games, even if fit.....he will just be used as cover, and get the odd game here and there.

Harry wouldnt be happy with that, and neither would you or I.

If he is not playing games here, he has every right to move on.

                              Good luck Harry.

I wish it had worked out as I think he could have been the key to a title challenge, he was that good.

OK. So let's go with the theory that Rafa did state this to him.

If Kewell grew some balls and decided there were more important things than money, played his socks off, stayed fit and regained his old form, you can be sure he'd become a regular starter.

So even if that is the case IMHO if he truly is a lifelong supporter he should have stayed.
