I know I would. He has done nothing wrong ie he is within his rights to walk away and someone else will pay him obviously more than we were prepared to but it's situations like this that confirm there is fcuk all loyalty in the game any more
But we don't know what the offer was mate so unless you think that he should have signed anything put under his nose by the club there's no validity in questioning his loyalty or anything else.

If he's been given a pay as you play deal, told he was likely only to start in the Carling Cup and the odd league game how could he be expected to sign it? It would just be like signing the rest of his career away due to a sense of loyalty.

Unless we find out what the details of the offer were we really aren't in a position to judge him for rejecting it.

I don't think Kewell deserves to be attacked for picking up his wages, that was his contract and 99.9% of players would have done exactly what he did. He didn't get injured on purpose, so well done to him.

However, where he does fall way short in my opinion is that he has been offered a new contract. Earlier on in the season there was this interview:

Kewell revealed one of his major motivations as he regains form is to repay the faith shown in him by the boss.

He explained: "Given my Liverpool career, and the way it has gone, all I want to do is take the chance that the manager is giving me.

"I want to repay him for that, and the boys who have helped me through, for sticking with me and not giving up."

Irrespective of the contract, if he wanted to give back he would have accepted it, even if it meant vastly reduced wages with no guarantee of first team football.

He has earned £22m since joining us, as I said above, well done to him, but here was an opportunity for him to show loyalty to a club and a manager that has given him so much, and he hasn't taken it.

For that reason I feel Kewell is leaving Liverpool under a dark cloud of his own making.

Fair enough, but considering the fact that pretty much every time he has come back fit he has been picked for the biggest, major games including cup finals when he hadn't contributed to getting us there makes it unlikely that he was told if you stay you will only be a Carling Cup player IMO

Maybe mate but he was fit for decent spells this season and largely overlooked. Just in the same way I find it hard to crucify him I also don't want to defend him too much without knowing a litte more.

Either way I think the time was right for Harry and LFC to go their separate ways.

Actually, Harry hired his own personal physio, because he felt it was unfair on the other players that he was hogging one.

Well, if accounts of him turning down a lowerpaid contract are true, all sympathy goes out the window. We've supported his invalidity for 4 years and his reaction is to turn round and piss on our back.

I hope he goes to Newcastle. With their luck he'll break a leg the mercenery ******

harry, like everyone else in this world, is looking to do the best by his family. signing with us as opposed to moving on could cost him what, 5 mil over the rest of his career (signing on fee plus 20kmore a week)?

who'd turn that down? if we wanted him to stay, why did we offer him reduced, why not keep him on at what he's earning? if we doubt his fitness, then we shouldnt offer him anything should we? if we believe he's going to be ok and we still want him, we should offer him an extension of his current terms.

i just think this is the way it goes in sport sometimes. don't forget, harry has lost out on this big time aswell. he's lost the chance to shine at peak of his career.

What a sad state of affairs.

                              A shambles.

We should be seeing Kewell at the peak of his powers in a Liverpool shirt, unfortunately it hasn't worked out.

I could cry when i think of how bad things have went for Harry at LFC.

Mate that is rubbish, when Bergkamp signed his final contract for Arsenal, he accepted a reduction to £14k a week.

Kewell has done absolutely nothing to justify his high wages and no sane person would ever offer him a new contract on the same terms.

Kewell has earned over £20m in wages while at Liverpool, his family will be fine.

I agree he should move on.
