Maybe Kewell rejected the deal on the basis of the fact that he'd be a carling cup player rather than any issues with money? Who knows eh but I suppose it's much easier to reach for the pitchforks.
And the people saying he should have refused some or all of his wages during his injury problems are absolutely ****ing nuts.

he has played for us 30 times in 11 years dickheadOriginally posted by Hass View PostWhat pisses me off with Kewell is that whilst he's injured he picks up his wages and when he's fit he's happy to train or swan off to Australia to help them.
If you want an example of a honest and decent pro who was in a similar position then look further than Fernando Redondo, when he left Real Madrid to join Milan he got injured and was out for over 2 years. He told Milan he could not accept any wages whilst he was out injured.
If only Kewell had the same kind of ethics and principles.

why should he stay here and barely ever play, when he could give something else a go? Its clearly not worked out for him here.
Personally i cant wait for him to leave, purely so people stop ****ing whining about him."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

You tell him Harv.Originally posted by Harveybirdman View Posthe has played for us 30 times in 11 years dickhead

Seriously though people seem to think it's fair game to slaughter him based on their assumptions alone just because it's Kewell. It just shows them up as nasty little people really and I don't understand it because when he's been fit he's always given 100%."My commitment to Liverpool is 100 per cent. Kewell's been injured. I doubt very much he actually wanted his career to take the path it has. Some of the comments about him on here are ridiculous.
You'd think he'd pulled a 'Winston Bogarde' the way some people are reacting on here. The guy's had at least two career-threatening injuries plus surgery on several occasions.
Personally I hope he can get fit and play on with success, wherever it may be.
YNWA Harry, thanks for the good times.

Isn't that what Redondo did at Milan? I'm sure I read that he had moved from Madrid and did his cruciate or something, writing him off for the full season and he refused to accept his wages until he got back fit again. Amazing gesture but wouldn't expect that from anybody
In Harry's case, I don't knock hom for the contract he signed as it was the club that offered it to him, I have always been sympathetic towards his injury situation but I am disgusted that the club made him an offer and he rejected it after the support he has been shown - I am sure Rafa has taken this very personally ..... I know I would. He has done nothing wrong ie he is within his rights to walk away and someone else will pay him obviously more than we were prepared to but it's situations like this that confirm there is fcuk all loyalty in the game any moreAt a football club there's a holy trinity- the players the manager and the supporters, Directors dont come into it, they are only there to sign the cheques " - Bill Shankly
