If Kewell grew some balls and decided there were more important things than money, played his socks off, stayed fit and regained his old form, you can be sure he'd become a regular starter.

So even if that is the case IMHO if he truly is a lifelong supporter he should have stayed.

He has to stay because he is a supporter??? Maybe he realises he's not good enough anymore, and doesnt want to take any money away from the club or impede the development of a younger player by staying??

I dont buy into this, I dont think he is either of the above. As far as I am concerned he has never been a great player ( a handfull of cameo performances for Leeds doesnt really cut it ). I was disappointed when we signed him along with several other players that Houllier brought in. I will be glad to see Kewell out the door as he has never been everything people have bigged him up to be, he is a squad player at best at this level, nothing more

Hopefully, he will find a small team that will be a the correct level to suit his skills

Do you know the stipulations of his contract offer?? For all we know, Rafa could have told him he wont play many games, even if fit.....he will just be used as cover, and get the odd game here and there.

Harry wouldnt be happy with that, and neither would you or I.

If he is not playing games here, he has every right to move on.

If he stays fit he could. I doubt he can, he probably has some doubts and Rafa probably thinks he would be handy as a squad or in emergencies and offered him a token contract.

well if you've read my posts in the past year, you would see that i have had "bad" things to say about Kewell's performances. He hasn't been good enough, and even when fit he wont be good enough. I however don't call him a "mercenary cunt" like a few have. There is no need.

Its laughable that the same people wanting him to "**** off", are now the same clowns whinging that he hasn't signed the new contract.

Harry should go, it hasnt worked out for him here.

And by the way, Aussie opinion of Kewell isnt that flash. He has only played for Australia 30 times in 11 years. Thats not a good record.

I`m sure there were many more looking at him. But looking doesnt mean buying.

Fair enough but I saw him play many, many games through out his Leeds career and when fit he was class, a constant threat and the first player opposition managers tried to shut down. He did have a couple of quiet periods following injury but once he recovered properly he was a thorn in every team he came up against.

So my opinion is different. If Harry of 00/01 was on the market today I shudder to think what Chelsea, Manu, Real Madrid would be offering. Quality leftsided attackers are rare as hens teeth.

Anyway, lets leave and let this thread die its own death. Please.
