If you want an example of a honest and decent pro who was in a similar position then look further than Fernando Redondo, when he left Real Madrid to join Milan he got injured and was out for over 2 years. He told Milan he could not accept any wages whilst he was out injured.

If only Kewell had the same kind of ethics and principles.

Absolute tripe. Harry made his debut for Australia over 10 years ago and has played about 25 games, TOTAL.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

      It is from sportingo... http://www.sportingo.com/Football/a8...pool-nightmare

But a good read on him... Read today that benitez had offered him a new contract on reduced wages, but it was refused by him and his agent.

I think he will be very lucky to find a club that will offer him his current wages wih the amount of injuries he picked up over the last 5 years...

On Kewell’s departure, Benitez added: “We have tried to come to an agreement with the player and his agent, but that has not been possible.

“Kewell will leave the club at the end of his contract.”

It is believed that Kewell has rejected a new deal on reduced wages.

After all Saint Harry did for the club, it is an absolute disgrace that they should dare to offer him a new contract on reduced wages

While I think its for the best that Kewell leaves its sad to hear that he didn't want to stay - money cannot be a motive for the lad, surely!

It's hard to say mate but I doubt he would have been expecting the same money to stay on. It could have been a play as you play etc or Rafa could have said you'll be 3rd/4th choice. I won't judge the lad without knowing those details.

Possibly even just that Harry knows that the majority of fans want to see the back of him, or rather than continue to take money from us just to sit in the treatment room, he'll look for another club?

it will be a real shame to see him go as i was overjoyed when we signed him infront of united, arsenal and chelsea.

Yes he's been unlucky with injuries and everyone has an opinion on harry kewell (some bad and others even worse) - but the fact is that if he had been fully fit for rafa we would have been much much closer to the other 3 clubs in the fight for the title.

                    adios harry.

I wouldn't give him that much credit without knowing the details either mate.

It's just a shame that we never got the best out of Kewell and a shame for him that his body never let him go out and play his best stuff in red. I think it's best all round that he moves on and I hope he does well at his new club.

You have to think that at his age and with his record he wants to play every game he is fit for which won't be the case with us. In the end I think this is the best for both parties - I doubt he would get any better contract anywhere else at the minute than anything we offered.

no matter how many times you post that, people just don't seem to want to hear it. the usual hardman-only-faggots-and-parasites-get-injured bull**** will keep doing the rounds.

what harry needed was a proper couple of legbreaks like "djibs" to prove that he actually couldn't run for extended periods of time.

Firstly, well done on a good balanced post.

Secondly, how the **** do you know how big a man I am

EDIT: thirdly, it appears you are full of ****.

He's had some obscure injuries. The sports hernia was the one that did most damage IMO. Very hard to diagnose apparantly and some of our staff lost their job over it. Septic arthritis? FFS what is that. apparantly it could of cost him his foot if not diagnosed quick enough. This time it was the FFA (OZ) that ****ed up and thankfully he was correctly diagnosed on his return to LFC.

I still think Houllier played him to quickly after his injury in Nov 03 and the rest is history. Sad story in all and we could of been competing for the title with a fit Harry in 05/06 (he was v good at 70%) and this season.
