mmm true that would be nice, but if i'm honest i would just love to see the Harry I remember, beating fullbacks for fun and loving every minute of it. I hope he gets to enjoy his football again here or anywhere. The last 5 years must of been hell for him.

PS, like i said my Chav supporting mate called me a

"you are and will always be a gloryhunting fat ****"

just the other day. It is a regular occurance. Water off a ducks back though once you have the Liverpool bug.

Harry was exceptional at times for Leeds, and also had a very good debut season here before his injuries started that people seem to be disregarding, 49 games, 11 goals.

Injuries have wrecked the lad pure and simple and you can see by how much weight he's lost recently that he's tried his upmost to get himself right but it wasn't to be. I also don't blame him if he wants to go play for his country now as he isn't getting as sniff so if Rafa's happy for him to do it why are some of us bothered? Kewell's a genuine bad luck story but he ain't a ****house.

1996 I returned from Adelaide after 10 years to my home town in the country. I made some new friends, one of which was a lifelong LFC supporter and would always watch them and football in general when it was on. Myself, I hated football and quite often told football supporters it was played by poofo pansie's and was not interested. I was niave.

However by 97-98, my friend told me to have a look at this young Aussie playing for Leeds, Harry Kewell. Now I should point out that I am a mad sports lover, always have been and love an Aussie battler winning against the odds. I was taken by this guys talent however I was learning the game at this point and over a couple of years became a fan of the game aswell.

However by this time I was a Harry Kewell fan. His time at Leeds was "world class". He had times when returning from injury when he was not so effective but in the main he was a constant threat, on form, he was relentless. His confidence grew to a silly amount that was a joy to watch. Skipping past defenders at will and scoring simply brilliant goals.

I classed myself as a Leeds follower but that was only because of Harry. I even admitted to a liking for Manu (). When it was known he was leaving I openly admitted I would be changing my allegence to whatever team Harry went to. In other words I was really just a Harry Kewell fan.

As we know he signed for us and I was following Liverpool. I am not going to dribble on about what happened next for Harry but for me I was slowly falling in love Liverpool Football Club.

The actual point I stopped being a Harry Kewell supporter and became a lifelong Liverpool supporter was the Olympiacos game. I lived near my friend at this point and went around to see him before going to work. When he saw me he said "It doesn't get any better than that, does it". My reply was "that's it, what a game, what a team". TBH i was gobsmacked

Harry is a true professional, I have followed him all his career and I still believe he actually thinks in his own mind he will return to his best. He left Australia and his family at 15yo and travelled to the other side of the world to achieve a dream, ultimately play for Liverpool. NOONE WOULD BE MORE DEVESTATED THAN HIM HOW IT TURNED OUT.

I understand people being disappointed at his output here, we all are. Those who say he puts Australia before Liverpool are talking absolute bull****. harry has played 29 times for Australia in over 10 years.

If he is going I wish him all the best at his new club and for the rest of his career. I thank him for making me a Football fan (no easy task 12 years ago) but most of all I will be eternally grateful to him for introducing me to the greatest Football team on the planet, Liverpool Football Club.

                  YNWA Harry

I don't know what it is with some of you guys. His careers gone down the pan not because of lack of desire but because injuries have ****ed up his career. We can't blame him for that. He has battled his way back from some terrible injures and players with less mentality would probably have packed it in but he hasn't.

Anyone who says he doesn't put in effort is talking complete bollocks imo. The problem is we still (and I include myself in this) expect him to do brilliant things with a football but maybe it's time for myself and critics to realise that just maybe his body won't allow him to do this, but not for the lack of effort.

Laugh all you want but I'm not the only person in the world to be attracted to a game through the talents of an individual. Infact it is second only to being born (brainwashed) into it.

Na i'm not taking the piss, it's just funny in retrospect that you came to be a part of this club through Harry Kewell who has turned out to be one of our worst signings (value for money-wise).

Harry's goal at the kop end against the bitters was worth the 5M .......

well maybe not but I think Rafa was desperate for Harry to succeed as he gave him plenty of opportunity to get his injuries right and was very patient with him-and rightly so cos he was a sublimely talented footballer. A fit Kewell for us would have provided a cutting edge however its time for him to go.

The above clip proves that everyone that is saying that Kewell isn't an excellent pro is talking ****.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
