Have you even been on the website and seen for yourself what it's about?

Is AFC Liverpool advertising for Junior Players to set up a junior division from Under 7 up?

It may well be. Im not sure off the top of my head which age groups we have teams for next season as time is against us to register them but the season after we will have a full range of age groups for both Boys and Girls. As it stands we will have 16 teams registered next season. (1st and reserve team, Womens team, Disabled team then the rest are youth teams of boys and girls.)

So anyone know where the home ground is? And what league will AFC be in? Are the players going to be paid (the kind of amatuer/semi pro rate of about £80 a game)? I'm definitley interested in going to see them. Would have loved to have tried to get a game but I think I'm too old now I bet they get a good standard of player to be honest for the level they are at now.

The groundshare will be compeleted next week so will broadcast that then.

AFC Liverpool have applied to be in the Vodkat Division 2. (Which is the old North West Counties League) Players will be paid yeah. Most of the players will be of a standard higher than the league we will be starting off in so the plan is to get out of the league and motor up them. On saturday the manager was asked what his ambition was. His answer was to be the best Non League side in Merseyside and then see what happens.

Oh and it'll be £5 to get in mate and looks like £2 for kids, for our home games. £10 gets you to be a member of the club also.

All sounds good to me - keep us posted. Is the ground likely to be north end of Liverpool, central or south? I'd be driving from Preston way so the more northerly the better!

To me AFC Liverpool has used this and other forums as an advertising vehicle to promote itself as 'Complimentary Alternative' to Liverpool FC basing it's argument on the issue that people cannot afford to go to the matches.

All of this pretty much free advertising has had a lot of people interested in this 'Alternative' team, but then along comes AFC Liverpool the Junior Football Club, using its new found fame on forums and LFC's own website to entice youngsters, who, most likely, are currently playing in the grassroots game with already established and hardworking clubs.

Nicely Done!!, the biggest funding pathways come through Junior Football, particularly Girls Football at present, so instead of linking and supporting other grassroots clubs in the area you decide to cash in on your high profile.

As a club administrator I was, originally, very interested in this plan, not anymore thank you very much if it means you stamp on the toes of the rest of us. You are now now no different to most Grassroots clubs in the UK and your so called "LFC's Little Brother" act appears nothing more than an advertising campaign.

                Fans, probably, sycophants, definately.

There are only a handful of grounds on Merseyside that meet the approved standard mate. Those include Bootle, Formby, Anfield, Goodison, Marine and Prescot Cables. Our groundshare for the next few years, until we get our own ground within the Liverpool City boundary, will be one of those.

AFC Liverpool is trying to help the community by setting up youth teams. Any funding that the club gets, goes back into the area it is for so I dont see a problem with that, its not a case of us taking all the money we can from various bodies to spend elsewhere. In fact the teams that have been set up generally are already existing teams as we have been approached by a number of teams wanting to come under the 'banner' of AFC Liverpool. Rather than adding to a problem, we are clearly adding to a solution which is to get the community (both boys and girls) involved. Im not sure that we are taking anything from anyone. If funding is available, then its available to all.

It isn't negativity mate, it is just other opinions. I am not for or against the idea, not sure yet, but for all those who think it is good there are as many who dont and they deserve to be heard too. Alan has done a grand job and the idea is noble but the point of supporting other local teams is also valid.
Kev mate, I don't disagree with any of that. My comment was entirely in response to Cally's contribution at the start of the thread and any similar contributions from people in other AFC threads.

In my eyes what he said was less an opinion and more an opportunity to have a pop.

Besides, surely in Junior football it is about the kids taking part? Whether kids play for AFC Liverpool or any other club makes no odds to me. Its the fact they are playing footy and not hanging about street corners that counts in my book. Id like to think that AFC Liverpool is a giving club rather than a taking one and by having something for all ages to be involved in then thats only doing good.

But none have an LFC identity do they.

I'd support a non league version of LFC just like I support Liverpool's Masters team.

If its got no tie to something Liverpool I'm not bothered about it. If it has, I want it to win.

If you'd have been around in 1892 you'd be saying that we've ripped an idea off Everton who in turn had ripped it off Notts County

3 consecutive promotions actually and crowds bigger than 6 league two clubs.
