Living in Glasgow, I've seen quite a bit of this boy and IMO is the ideal long term replacement for JC. He's quick, has a good passing game and reads the game well. I watched him a few times in last seasons CL and he was pretty impressive in some of the games.

One thing he is not is a LB, so no point in trying to convert him. I would have no hesitation letting the Greek go if we could acheive £2 Million, I personally see him as a potential liability with his mistakes being more high profile than his performances. This boy would do well as cover for Skittles / Big Dan / JC.

Liverpool Football Club have this evening confirmed they have agreed a deal in principle for the transfer of Danny Wilson.

Wilson, 18, established himself in the centre of defence at Rangers last season and landed the Scottish Football Association Young Player of the Year trophy after making 24 appearances for the Ibrox side.

Not being a great watcher of Scottish football i don't know much about this kid. A couple of Gers fans i know have described him as a "Rough Diamond"

I hope he's at least better than Ayala otherwise it's not a good deal, but I think with JC's age and injury concerns over the other two, this lad will see some playing time this season.

He'll also be a homegrown player too, by the time he's 21 (well, at the end of the season in which he turns 21 anyway) but until then, as he's under 21 we won't have to register him anyway.

I think that was more to do with the awesomeness of Hyypia-Henchoz, arrival of Babbel etc than because he was a natural to fill in there.

would you buy something this year for 5million knowing you can get it for 500k next year? would you do that with a car? house?

Carragher was a young centre back when Henchoz, Hyypia and Babbel arrived, they were deemed better at the time and he was moved to fullback where he was our best option at the time. As things changed he moved, from one full back position to the other and when Henchoz was past it he was moved to centre back again.
