As for Lawrenson, he was interview before the match on Norwegian TV, and they had Aldridge in the studio, at the end of the interview he was asked in a cheerful manner if he had something to say to Aldo, he just replied with "no, no I have nothing to say to him", then came out with some **** about he was sure Aldo got paid a lot for being in the studio. Sounded like a real ****bag.

Fair enough, "pass for sh*t" was not the right phrase I admit on hindsight.

However, I'm still liking the way our CBs are feeling confident enough to start playing the ball out along the ground instead of in the air constantly. This is an opinion.

Perhaps not specialist holding mids, but they can certainly play the role, and do it better than Mikel. Which further highlights how 'not amazing' he is

Surely he wouldn't have instructed them to sit so deep, it's almost suicidal. I saw Carragher numerous times yelling for everyone to push out. I will give Roy the benefit of the doubt here and say we got a little nervous and that's why we played so, so deep in the second half.
Yep, i'd agree with this. It's a sign IMO, that the confidence isnt quite properly there yet because, as you say, we were clearly nervous and scared of them to the extent where we almost set up base camp on the edge of our own box.

We withstood it yesterday, but under normal circumstances, you cant sit on the edge of your own box for 45 minutes and come out unscathed.

Definitely an area for improvement. It may not have been part of roy's plan, but i get the impression that he was as nervous as the players were, and he's hardly the most proactive for getting out into the technical area and getting a message across.

If the players are dropping further back out of nerves, it's upto him to get them feeling more confident and brave enough to push higher up.

Didn't believe it was possible, but Anfield was even more electric and exciting than what I got to experience on Thursday...

We had some Red Sox folks there for their first match, & they were also blown away by the passion, humor, and power of LFC supporters.

The energy of the Kop helped LFC shut out Chelsea -the first ranked EPL club- for LFC's fourth consecutive victory. Spectacular.

You're going to have to get past a lot of middle aged men, headed by Martin Tyler.
            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

What Skrtel was doing (and did well yesterday) is being grounded into him on the training ground. This is the same Skrtel who couldn't pass for sh*t last season. Not having a go at Rafa per se, just noticing and liking these little differences this season.
That's a fair point, but you'd have to wonder why Roy's so down on Agger, if he indeed does want us to play on the ground more. For any manager who wants that, Agger's a dream come true.

I can outrun Tyler and his ilk.

I've seen a lot of aimless hoofing in the second half from Carragher & Konchesky to confidently state that there's nothing which is radically different to what's been taught to them. Maybe it's not their forte?

Most of the time, the aimless hoofing can be as a result of playing so deep.
                  Are we winning?

Who knows whats going on in the background with that. I'm not happy that Agger's not playing as he can become very influential to our style of play. His injuries are not helping him, us or Roy out unfortunately.

Second half I'm not convinced it was Chelsea pinning us back or us just sitting back you can argue either way, the exact same thing happened at Blackburn

IF it isnt a tactic Roy should be up hollerring at them to get up the pitch (like Rafa use to)
Not sure what you're not convinced about - I was watching Carragher trying to get the 4 to move up the pitch on a number of occassions.

If it's Hodgson's tactics then I agree it's not the way he's set the side up previously but the fact that Carragher was urging the team to move up-field would indicate the plan was not to sit back too much.

I'm not implying Hodgson has converted to all out attack.

Anfield was amazing today, thanks all the Reds supporters. This victory will give the team a lot of confidence to keep going. Well done reds. I am going to sleep because I am really tired today, tomorrow we start to think in the next game. Good Night #happy.

Aaaaawwwwww, but you are rich in so many other ways Craig!

And I'm sure if you started an argument with her, saying "You are mine!", it wouldn't take you long to win that argument

Nah, it’s definitely the weedy professor look, women can’t resist it at the minute.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
