Hat's off to Lucas, he's changed my opinion of him by how much he's come on. Change of tactics has a lot to do with it and I'd say man management style. But also Lucas developing more upper body strength and getting experience in the league. Keep it up lad.*************************

Lucas suits 442 better as he's a box to box player. He wasn't defensive enough when played with Xabi and he wasn't attacking enough when played with Masch. As such he always looked average as he never did much.
Keeping him never made sense as we never played a system that suited him. I'd say his situation is the complete opposite to Kuyt.
For Dirk 4231 was ideal. He could come inside and use his shooting and link play to good effect. Now he's being asked to get wide more he is being exposed and looks like a fish out of water. He is clearly not suited to a 442 as he is not a good enough striker and he isn't a good enough RM. Only reason he is getting by atm is that Glen is doing all the attacking for him.Forwards.......

The same thoughts have entered my head recently. The way he shields the ball now and his recent knack of winning cheap free kicks when under pressure is very Didi like. I wonder if this is just coincidence.
Add a few goals to his game and he will be a scary prospect. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

He is slowly getting there and who knows in a year or two he may be as good as Pirlo was at his best.
Sure we do especially as you joined Est1892 in Sept 2010

He played as a box to box midfielder in Brazil before he joined us. He said it himself in a few interviews that he had to change his game. Now he plays in his best position, box to box.
As you said. Before this season the midfield wasn't built to suit him. Meireles suits Lucas excellent. Look at the chalkboard when he isn't playing with Gerrard and when he is playing with him.
Lucas can make 20-30 yard passes no problem when he is allowed to do it and when he is the one that should make them. When Gerrard play in central midfield with him then it is Gerrard that makes the 20-30 yard passes and not Lucas. The reason is that Lucas isn't the one that should make them. The same can be said when he played with Xabi and with Masch.
Lucas is showing that he can be the playmaker if we allow him to be it.Stop the cyberhate

from now on I will skip talking about our finances. That is a promise and will save myself from looking like a
