I'm sorry but if you cant understand that money is a finite resource at a football club then you are beyond help

    Our wage bill is astronomic

It has risen dramatically this summer

We have yet to offload any significant wages

If you think we can keep adding players to our squad without getting some off the books in one form or other then you are very wrong

The interested clubs will use our situation as much as they can. I can see more or less every player we want to get rid of staying until the last week of the window when we will be so desperate to get rid of them that they will be available on the cheap and on a free.

Last summers transfer dealing was probably the worst ever made by us. That is what happens when you get Fernando Torres(Purslow) doing the negotiations.

After Torres came out and said he wanted to go, say Chelsea were the only club to come in for him and were 'only' offering 30 million. Would you have been happy letting him go on those terms?.
You cant compare the Torres deal to Aquilani

Its about supply and demand and how the demand level is effected by price

We have someone who is unhappy, that the club are happy to let go so it can press ahead with the rest of their transfer plans

We had a deal in place for Aquilani at £13-14 million but Juve didnt bite

They only wanted to pay £6 million

Now we supposedly have an offer from Fiorentina and this is the best offer on the market but to get £9 million we have to loan him for 1 year with a fee of £900K

IF this deal is so "under value" there will be more takers at better levels

You have to ask yourself why they arent coming out of the woodwork

Yes they did but that was probably before they looked at Coles and Jovanovic's contracts

Mascherano was unhappy but acted as a pro and gave 100% in every game.

If he doesn't play good enough then he will get it very difficult to get a move back to Italy in January or next summer. He simply don't have a choice. He must perform or else he will stay.
When Mascherano made it clear he wanted to leave, he only played one game my for us my friend! And that was against Arsenal and he did play very well in that game. He then went on strike and refused to play against Man City and acted like a cunt. That was not professional of him at all. What followed was one of the most dismal performnces from Liverpool I've seen where got smashed by city 3 - 0 and that was probably as a result of what went on just before the game.

He played one full season for us after he made it clear that he wanted out.

Actually, he agreed to play one more season and was promised that he would be allowed a move if a club came in and matched the valuation of him before the start of the last season. And this is documented everywhere. The fact Barcelona were refusing to match the valuation and the transfer was delayed is not Liverpools fault. There was nothing professional about his behaviour - he acted like a ******, and ended up warming the Barcelona bench for most of the season. He only got games towards the end due to injuries and even then, he was quite frequently played at centre back

and won the champs league playing in possibly the best club side of all time. and with a nice climate and in a country that speaks the same language as he does. yes i am sure that you laughing at him makes sense.

He did initially say he'd play a season, but after that season there were strong rumours he'd sign a new contract. Rafa was sacked, the contract whispers disappeared Bodge came in he ran for the hills leaving us high and dry with Poulsen replacing him. Different kettle of fish. I love Mascherano as a player but he ****ed us over big time. Professional when on the pitch, but off it he was anything but.

We had a whole year sorting out a deal. By the look of it we didn't even try and sell him even that we promised him to do it. Inter wanted him and we could have got a better deal if Roy hadn't told them to **** off.

Masch didn't act in the best way last summer but the way we acted for a whole year stinks and that shouldn't be a surprise with Purslow in charge of things.

I doubt that saj have ever heard the word tactics. Masch played excellent as a central defender because if you play like Barcelona do then you don't need tall and strong central defenders. You need central defenders that is great on the ball, is a great tackler, great reader of the game and can play one touch football. Masch wouldn't be a great central defender in the PL but he is a great central defender at Barcelona.

mash only meets 2 or that criteria IMO

Masch have no problem playing one touch football and he is great on the ball. He proved that at Barcelona and he proved that here.

It looks like you never seen him play

was gonna say same to you cause when with us he was not that great on the ball and could not one touch football and from watching a vast majority of his games on tv last year with barca he aint got any better at it.

tackling and reading the game he was great at - maybe you and i have different meanings of "on the ball". for me that means playmaking (taking control of the ball, taking time to pick the right pass, having excellent vision, comfortable to keep the ball and invite players onto you) and that was mash's biggest downfall IMO.
