Coming clean will not help him and it will taken against him in the worst possible way I'm afraid.
He may not have been able to as, in my interpretation of the piece by Winter posted a couple of pages back, Suarez said something in the presence of the ref:
...
There is an expectancy that it will be confirmed to the panel that nothing offensive was heard in the goalmouth.
Shortly after the corner, referee Andre Marriner called the pair together for a lecture. Suárez apologised and attempted to pat the United full-back on the head. “Don’t touch me, you South American,’’ Evra is alleged to have said. To which, the Uruguayan replied: “Porque, Negro?’’
...
It would look a lot worse if Suarez simply denied everything and the ref chimed in with what he heard, if he (the ref) actually heard it. And Suarez wouldn't be able to put forward the cultural/linguistic defence.
Have a bad feeling that Suarez will be made an example of so that the FA can show the world that they aren't soft on racism regardless of whether there is genuine evidence against Luis or not.
Surely if he is found guilty of racism he would be sacked by the club wouldn't he?
How could we have a confirmed racist in the team.
If we ignore the FA decision by accepting a ban and then carry on playing him afterwards it means we don't have any regard for the FA because we believe in Saurez's innocence and not their judgement.
Where would that leave us by not having any regard for our football league's governing body.
The FA have made a right mess of this really.
Maybe they'll come up with a compromise like insulting behavior and suspend him then the only winner is the FA. Saurez is proved a naughty boy & evra is miffed..
It's not a court of law; it's a panel of 3 self-important teds so they are not proving anything.

As far as I remember, there was no initial evidence to support those comments as Mariner didn't report any wrongdoing on Luis part so I'm not so sure that wasn't only Winter's possible interpretation that may not really be true.
Well yeah, calling someone a name is calling someone a name, its hardly rape. And before you put words in my mouth I'm not saying its acceptable just that it'd be complete and utter stupidity to sack someone over it.

Dont be daft, you dont sack someone because he said a nasty word. And certainly not an asset worth £40m +
If I was found to be using racist language at work, my employment would be terminated. Obviously its a little different in football, because the players are saleable assets. But to dismiss it like that is a bit wrong.
