I think they had to treat this as a totally unique situation. They had to acknowledge the complexities involved in racism, they had to make a stance that though they find racism abhorrent and that it has no place in modern sport in this case the truth is somewhat complex. They should have acknowledged the multi cultural society we live in. They should have acknowledged the multi cultural nature of the modern game.

It should then have been explained that this case hinged on a misunderstanding from 2 players from 2 different backgrounds. It should have been acknowledged through Luis' background that he was in no way a racist. It should have cited examples from Uruguay of the usage of the given word (ignoring the actual issue and word does us no favours). Then perhaps a slap on both players wrists for 'ungentlemanly' (they were both antagonising each other), and a one game ban a peice....

Instead of this they have totally backed one player and hung the other out to dry, leaving the gutter press to brand him in bold letters a 'Racist' ruining potentially the rest of hs career and life.

The old *******s are clearly not capable of handling a case of such nuances and we should be offering the FA a vote of no confidence. We could do with some support from elsewhere in the game - it will be interesting to see if we get any.
For some reason the first thing that crossed my mind when I read this was 'Yea... shoulda, woulda, coulda, but there are larger motives present here and they are political. There is the whole FIFA World Cup 'We spent 23 million and didn't get it, but Qatar just gave you some back-handers and they got it!!!', then there's the Blatter racism comments, which in turn has been used in part - the way it looks to me - as a justification of the length of the ban, but also sticking two fingers up at FIFA and telling them '**** off Blatter, you're a racist for suggesting it, look how strong we apply the law even in cases that are borderline dismissable.'

But that's not really what I believe the underlying motives are. I fully believe that the verdict, the setup of the 'panel' (who is actually deemed fit to judge a complex issue such as this one and which - 'independent' - parties should be involved in the sentencing), the length of time it took to reach a conclusion and most of all the delay in giving the verdict portray some hidden agenda between the lines.

It is definitely foolish to believe that there are not ulterior motives at hand here and that it's just a case of 'strong hand against racism', seeing as all parties have acknowledged publicly that Suarez 'is not a racist'.

There are definitely sinister movements and reasonings behind this verdict, which is plain to see if one just makes one's own mind up and takes the facts and the data and evaluates them from an unbiased point of view (such as one that would be upheld in a court of law - which is generally regarded as 'unbiased').

And this is what to me is so damning about this verdict. If Suarez had called Evra a '****ing n****r', then I would understand the verdict, I would also understand the consequent battering Suarez would receive and is receiving in the press. But it's the way that he has been proven guilty before being able to argue his innocence. And the smear campaign that had been - regarding the stupendous length of time the FA had taken to reach a 'verdict' - in full swing for several weeks, which also reached a tipping point in Suarez' 'antics' being under close scrutiny and vilification from pretty much every away ground we played at the past 5 weeks, culminating in Suarez' given the finger to the Fulham fans, which surely would not have happened had he not been under said scrutiny from the media, other managers and most of all that cunt Ferguson.

So all in all, it is not only an independent and fair trial he has been denied here, it's the whole surrounding damnation he has faced, how Sky and all the commentators had been lapping it all up 'He does go down easily' 'Referees have figured Suarez out' 'He did handle the ball on the line in the world cup, clearly denying Ghana entry into the Finals blbalbah', 'so he's definitely a racist, just look at his history!!!'

The thing is, a large percentage of humans is ****ing dumb as ****. They watch TV all day. They buy **** newspapers. They're poorly educated. The media isn't stupid, they gear their voicing/reporting/exposure towards this large majority, because it sells and makes them money and it keeps the thickheads under wraps. And this is what is the sad thing about it. Regardless of a fair retrial, regardless of what happens, you will never hear the end of the majority having brandished Suarez 'a cheat and a racist for life'.

They ran our last great manager out of the job and got their puppet installed.

Whatever happens, let us remember to stick together.

It is also time for LFC to start pulling their weight, use their sponsors to coerce the FA. We need to use every trick in the book to help us stand our own.

Yesterdays ruling was not the end. It is the beginning of a battle. We are not going to take it lying down. I think the FA ( Ferguson's Army) grossly underestimated our fury. They did not expect this sort of defense from the club after the statement.

What baffles me is that Evra was insulting Suarez family in spanish so how can cultural and linguistic nuances not be taken into account?

anyone going to the game tonight has got to sing loudly for Suarez. I just hope he doesn't doubt his career in England and leave in January to Spain where this would not have happened.

My problem with this is not the ban, it's the tarnished reputation of Luis Suarez. Even if he is cleared, he'll forever be known as a racist by opposition supporters.

I just do not understand how the Football Association can come to such a conclusion based on one man's word against another. This issue should have been thrown out of the window unless other players or match officials heard him being racist.

I just cannot take the Football Association seriously, they have used Suarez to make a statement. I don't remember Peter Schmeichel being handed an eight match suspension after Ian Wright claimed that the Keeper racially abused him.
