This is going to turn into an almighty **** storm.
For example, based on Luther Blisset's point of view Luis is going to be lucky not to get hung for this. This is all being handled so badly, I really feel for Suarez during all this... There is a distinct lack of understanding of his culture.
LinkLiverpool may not have to contend with just punishment from the FA either. Speaking on a local Liverpool radio station on Saturday, Luther Blissett, the former Watford and Milan striker who now works as an ambassador for Show Racism the Red Card, raised the prospect of legal action.
Blissett said: "If Suárez is found guilty then you have got to look at supporters who have been found guilty of this sort of thing and people have gone to jail for it. If that is the case, you could anticipate the same sort of thing happening to him. You look at his profile, and people label sportsmen in the public eye as a role model, then it is doubly important they do something about it. If he's found guilty of this then he should be treated just like everybody else. You've got to abide by the law of the land. It doesn't matter how much money you have, the law is the law."Modifying post.

i don't think they needed any evidence. he admitted to saying something, and we all know what that word is and have done for weeks. seems like they have basically ruled that negrito is an abusive term, end of story, and if that's true then i can't imagine any appeal would lose apart from the obvious incompetency/stitch up thing. if any reasonably responsible party hears the appeal, then they must overturn the ban. even a suspended sentence and a warning to all the players in the league as to whether negrito will be considered abusive in the future would be a good result for everybody i think.dave of mutilation

In a sensible world that would happen, I am not holding my breath

Political motives?
"The FA's strong stance was welcomed by Kick It Out, its chair, Lord Herman Ouseley, saying: "The FA has shown leadership and intent through what has clearly been a difficult and complex complaint to deal with, and invested time and expertise to ensure this outcome. It has demonstrated that it will not stand for discrimination, something organisations such as Fifa and Uefa should take heed of. Kick It Out will continue to work with clubs and players, at professional and grassroots level, offering education on what is deemed offensive and unacceptable behaviour."

Still fuming over the verdict this morning - what a bunch of ****s in the FA.
How they can make that verdict because Evra 'says so' towards a player that have been playing with black/coloured (whatever the FA/PC acceptable term would be) players his entire carreer, and comes from mixed racial bagrounds himself is just incredible.
I guess the FA got what they wanted, setting a signal to Blatter but at the cost of integrity in the game
And Suarez telling the press it's correct just proves the point that it wasn't ill-meant, otherwise he could just have kept his mouth.
Now waiting for the FA to let Terry go...

Anyone else thinking the timing of this is ideal for Scum? Just as we are finally in a position to re-establish ourselves in the European Cup, we lose our best player for 1/4 of the season & make him question his long term future in England. Just as we once again have a decent manager, the rebuilding process is undermined.
Ferguson knew the club & Kenny would stand by an innocent player, but the club's name will be dragged through the mud just as we have a decent owner & are looking fit stadium sponsorship to take us back to the big league financially- something Ferguson has not had to compete with for 20 years in us. This could have implications for years for the club as well as Luis.3rd place. Worst champions ever.
