Evra accuses Suarez of racism

Olivier Bernand says "I don't believe Luis Suarez is a racist, but he did use a racist word". So, if he used a racist word, he must surely be a racist? Make your mind up, it's one or the other.
He also says he still believes racism is hidden in the stands and at times he has heard monkey chanting at football matches and has heard people booing black footballers. I've booed Ashley Cole because the guy is an absolute cunt, so that makes me racist does it? Also if monkey chanting did go on in English football stands then I'm pretty sure the media would have known about it and it would have been widely reported.
Olivier Bernard in my opinion from this interview with Skysports is a racist and also a barefaced liar.
He also doesn't know the meaning of the word racism either, he says it includes, culture, religion, and nationality. That's not what the Oxford English Dictionary says.Last edited by KingKenny77; 22-12-11, 12:43 PM.

there is zero evidence in the public light to prove this one way or another
We are backing our man and saying until you prove us otherwise...this man is innocent!!i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

It's pissing me off the number of ex-players coming out with **** about Suarez, the club, the players and the fans backing him, and implying that we are condoning racism.
There seem to be alot of people taking the view that this issue is black and white, concluding that the word supposedly used can be taken as meaning 'black' therefore Suarez is a racist, without undertanding/knowing about any cultural significance elsewhere in the world. Britain is supposed to be a multicultural society but I think that this issue is bringing our alot of people's prejudices and xenophobia with comments such as 'he's in this country now' followed by implications that only cultural view is correct and that any other culture that has different views is inherently racist.
In a case such as this the FA should have explained their reasons for the verdict and the punishment when it was announced, because in a case as complex as this I think that it's important that everyone knows the reasons behind the decision and people can decide whether they agree with the FA's position on this. As they have admitted that this is a very difficult case with cultural considerations and the nuances of language, so to come out with just a verdict and no real explanation I feel is very unfair and doesn't help anyone. How difficult would have been to have said 'Luis Suarez said..., having spoken to people who understand the Uruguayan culture we believe the phrase to have this translation and we feel that this is racially offensive hence the punishment'. That way everyone would understand the situation. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Show us the evidence!! show us the report!! - ****ing release it....
If they have done this right and it is justified that Luis Suarez deserves this treatment, then the should have nothing to hide behind, - so release the details - properly - show us the interviews, show us the evidence, show us the arguements for and against, and show us the actual reasoning behind it - and do it now!!
grow a ****ing pair and put your decision on the line - a mans ****ing career and reputation is at stake here, plus LFCs reputation is now at stake - so ****ing put up or shut up.
If it comes out, it's all done above board, and it's justified - we'll all but our hands up as a club and say "fair enough you got it right" - so what/why are you hiding?

Yup, that's how I see it.Originally posted by Chrono View PostI think he patronised him with a term that he didn't deem offensive. So effectively putting it in his own cultural context he called him a little man or a girl and the black element was never in his mind.

Exactly the arguments I've used with people. Others think racism is abhorrent (or are paying lipservice to that thought through hatred for the player/club), so they are happy to see an innocent mang "hung" for it on the basis of **** all & expect his own club to hang him out ot dry. It's mindless mob mentality- like the Rafa smear but worse cos it's a moral judgement too.Originally posted by PTP View Postas you say shaggy
i'm pretty confident that LFC, the players, the club, the manager - have as good an idea as any of the press as what has actually been said by suarez and what has happened....and from that they have made their judgement and decided to back suarez -
Now lets be honest - if Luis Suarez has acted in such a bad way as all these cunts are condemning him - would LFC have backed him to the hilt so much!!! would they ****! - why can't these cunts understand that...
it's clear, even before the evra incident, that there was a campaign building against suarez - opposition fans didn't like him because a) he's top class and b) he's probably a ****ing nightmare to play against and c) he's not done himself any favours with his moaning
So he was ****ing guilty as charged before any racist incident occured....they were just waiting for something.....anything...so they could all stick their knives.
As above, the club will know & not see it fit to back the player. There's no way they would have taken a decision so lightly & without extreme commerical & legal input given the profile of the club & its sponsors, it would be disasterous. I'm really proud of the club- including its owners for having the courage of their convictions to stand by the player. Imagine if it had been Bodge, G&H & Purslow overseeing this FFS.Originally posted by PTP View Postthis what ****s me off the most with these sort of issues and why the fa and fifa and all these corporations are so ****ing disliked...

He doesn't even know what racism is, so how can he defend anything? If idiots like him are going into schools teaching people about racism then I despair. That would be like me walking into a school and teaching children about Hinduism. I know nothing about Hinduism, so how can I teach someone about something I know nothing about? Bernard doesn't know the definition of racism as shown in the interview.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostFrench (and black) footballer sticking up for another French footballer shock.
I'd like someone to call him out and ask him what clubs supporters have been monkey chanting in the stands? If this has happened, then why has the media swept it under the carpet and why has Bernard waited until now to disclose it?

Something this fella said bugged me, and it's this....
Chairman of anti-racism group Kick It Out Herman Ouseley said:
"The FA has shown leadership and intent through what has clearly been a difficult and complex complaint to deal with, and invested time and expertise to ensure this outcome.
"It has demonstrated that it will not stand for discrimination, something organizations such as Fifa and Uefa should take heed of."
But he added: "This charge is not saying Luis Suarez is a racist. It's saying, on this occasion, he used racist language.
"It doesn't make him a bad guy - he needs to learn what is acceptable."
