IMO if the FA had just said right away that Evra and Suarez were bitching and both broke these ethnic and race abuse rules and would be sanctioned accordingly then the backlash would not have been as much. IMO they should have indicated that Evra was in the wrong and would be dealt with in the same manner. Six games a piece and everyone goes home, well maybe not happy, but not in a murderous rage either.

I think the whole thing is quite complex. I'm not sure what I think.

If there was say, 5 brothers in a family in South America the most 'tan' is likely to be referred to as 'negrito'. It's a term of endearment. However, I find it hard to believe that the context in which Suarez used this term was friendly. They were opposing players having a nark. I'm not saying he's racist before anyone starts, I just don't think it's as black and white as some are making out.

Football is full of hypocrisy. Everyone wants to stamp out racism until it's one of their team accused of it.

The context it was said in is what is in contention. Nobody can prove one way or another what context it was said in. He admitted saying it but said it was not said insultingly. Whether it was or not is besides the point, it can not be proved by the FA that it was, so they shouldnt be able to charge him nevermind find him guilty.

Obviously we are still waiting to hear the FA's "evidence" but on the face of it they are just choosing to side with one player over another on total hearsay.

That is not the way an official governing body of such stature should be doing its business.

It's really weird that no one seems to be able to stop and think why we might be against this decision. Do these knobheads really think we'd support someone so openly if we even had a doubt about his innocence?!

But then again, in a country where the S*n and the Mail sell millions of copies a day its unfortunately not a surprise, so many cant think for themselves.
