"No, no, no, these people are wogs."

Evra claimed he was called a "******" by Suarez

Columnists said the word 'black' was wholly unacceptable and could not be used on a football field.

we would use the word 'negro', the Spanish for 'black',

So they talked about the word 'negro' when they should have talked about 'black' which is the word Suarez used in Spanish.
    and therein lies the problem..

People don't know what they can and cant say anymore..

Why didn't they censor/asterix the word Wogs?

Hansen getting ripped to pieces for using the word coloured's.

Are we saying it's ok to type/write it but not ok to say it?

cabron means goat in spanish but calling someone goatboy over here doesnt mean ****. in french theres loads of ways of insulting black people but you would always use a prefix like salle noire - dirty black so and so.

the fa say suarez used the word negro as to call evra the english "neegro". suarez claims he said negro in spanish in response to evra saying dont touch me. allegedly asking him a question "porque tu es negro" roughly translating as "why not, is it because you are black".

asking him a question whilst using negro and using the english word pronounced "neegro" are two totally different things.

but he as a history of trouble and the fa panel are fergies rent boys. in south america and spain they will be aware of the linguistic differences and put it down to a misunderstanding albeit a serious one. however, in the rest of the english speaking world he will be labelled a racist and liverpool will be slaughtered for protecting a racist player.

the john terry trial will be interesting especially since he clearly called ferdinand a ****ing black ****. however.im sure the fa will smooth that one over quickly. suarez as been vilified especially by sky sports but no ones mentioned the whole terry thing during this.
      Firstly you're 100% correct.

Secondly, that's what the club should have figured out immediately internally (assuming Suarez isn't lying). Then - or before this really - the club should have realised the potential for the media and the FA to either intentionally or unintentionally misrepresent or misunderstand the nuances of language here. Massive club fail. The club reacted like scum-hating, **** off back to old toilet internet warriors. Those ****in tshirts - a low point for me in supporting LFC not because of any racism issue but because it was completely brainless.

I say this being fairly hopeful/certain that some day the FA's relationship with Ferguson, and all the other things we're probably rightly paranoid about, will come to light. Sadly, his arrogant dismissal of our attempts at conciliation now show how horribly naive and reactionary we have been in all this.

In themselves they were just stupid or maybe tasteless but I think they symbolised very accurately our reaction to the whole thing i.e. **** the lot of you, Suarez did nothing wrong, we'll support him to the bitter end, Evra is a lying scum *******, it's LFC vs the world as usual etc instead of saying "sorry, big misunderstanding, Suarez is more than willing to meet Evra and apologise for the offence he unintentionally caused and explain how Evra probably misunderstood him, hands around the world we're famous for being anti-racist anyway".

I don't fully agree with Fanning. We could have dealt with it better but I don't think it had anything to do with isolated morons we have as fans. At the root is the fact that Suarez never racially abused Evra.

I agree completely with both of you about the horrible injustice that has been dealt to Suarez. It's totally ****ed up for all sorts of reasons, some political, some probably very sinister, some just idiotic. But it's more complicated than that - it's a racism issue. It's fine for us to rant on the internet about Evra, the Scum the ****in FA and all that - there should be completely different tone to the way a massive global institution like LFC responds to it and barring Suarez being actually guilty of being a racist, our first instinct should have been "How do we make this go away?" and by dong that we would have simultaneously defended Suarez, his family and his reputation.

I think he did. He may not appreciated it at the time, but the evidence is good enough for me to accept his guilt.

Of course it's complex and it hasn't helped that the mass media completely missed the point. They allowed bandwagon jumpers to come on board and sully the name of an innocent man. Not sure how we could have reacted differently to diffuse the situation to be honest with you.

Yep now that the red mist has blown away, I can see you are right. Personally I liked the T Shirts, but strategically knowing we were up against it in the court of Media opinion or at least what there editors decided would be the naritive we just pitched them a soft ball to wack out of the park.

I said it before I'll say it again, The England Captain, The Olympics, UFEA, FIFA, The FA, Wrong place saying the wrong thing to the wrong guy in the wrong club. Please Dear God Lessons Learnt

I have never know such a flurry of bad press flying our way in such a concentrated peroid of time, then again Assbags like Glendenning said we should have just got on with it when Bill and Ben were in control ...

The only conselation out of all of this is perhaps a few less people will be racially abused and some people might think again before the type, think or say what they think are harmless things but are in fact hurtful racist ignorant bile

                          ignorance is no defence.

unfortunately suarez didnt fully appreciate the potential implications of the word but its something the club has probably handled incorrectly.

privately kenny and co are fuming but in these situations you have to show some diplomacy. yes we all hate united and evra accused steve finnan of being racist towards him and it was unfounded. im sure the club are annoyed with evra but I dont think you can allow that ire to be seen in public.

it seems the pr statement was written by a fan because its probably exactly how most fans would have written it. pointing fingers at evra, united and a subjective fa whilst backing suarez 100%. when I first read it I though get in... but when you read it again it seems quite provocative.

evra is a lying, cheating scumbag, united are a bunch of cunts and the fa are a lad of spineless ******a but you dont say it in such clear words.

instead we should have made it totally clear that racism in any form isnt to be tolerated and said that luis made a mistake which he wont repeat. we have to underline our committment to anti racism policy, because signing suarez after what he did to ghana will affect some african fans and then backing him after he used the negro word seems a little naive.

we should have done in behind the scenes and tried to sort it out with united directly. I hate to say this but.i think fergie.was right, we should have sorted this out between ourselves.

Really? After the publication of the report , the evidence of Kuyt and DC, the conciliatory gesture defense, the 'nothing to see here response of the club and the focus on Evra... you don't think we could have reacted differently in a way that would have been less inflammatory?

Evra went to the tv cameras, complained to the fa, once he did that it was out of our hands.

What did Fergie do when Ian Wright accused Schmeicle, he came out immediately and defended him, saying he had'nt said anything.

The club should have dealt better with it no doubt. But there was a point in the report which shows Ferguson's influence where he was allowed in the ref's room despite the rules which forbids approaching them within 30 minutes after a match. There were a lot of points in the report where the club's defence was already undermined and where we were already on the backfoot.
