I'm not sure what to read into that really, are they going to look into the Saurez case again then or just throw him out of the country? Or look at racism as a whole in every sport?

Think Steve Rotheram's involved so that's not a bad thing.

It sounds like they are going to look into sport as a whole, focusing primarily on football due to the recent incidents. I think this is a good thing as this whole issue has shown up the lack of understanding of racial and cultural issues that many people in the country have.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think they need to forget jumping on the bandwagon and focusing on sport because of the press coverage. Sport is one area where racism has been tackled quite sucessfully and these cases stand out because they are relatively rare. A focus on wider society would be far more insightful and useful imo.

Providing they come out in support of LFC and Suarez I don't care.

They could start by looking at themselves. Is there a more White environment than Westminster in the country?

I have been successful in getting a Parliamentary Select Committee (DCMS) to look at the whole issue of racism in football/sport (06/03/12).

                          Spot on.

They cant solve the problem of racism in general society though and wont look at it because the government itself as an institution no doubt knowingly turns a blind eye to racism when it suits them or when they cant be bothered to deal with it. It wont line their pockets, so isnt going to be a priority.

By focusing on sport (and football) they can pretend it's others or other institutions who have the problem, thus turning the attention off them and onto the 'bad guys'.
