I'm actually quite disappointed that Suarez (supposedly) has offered an apology. **** 'em, he's been hung out to dry and quite understandibly didn't want to shake hands with Evra.

Liverpool Managing Director Ian Ayre has today released the following statement.

"We are extremely disappointed Luis Suarez did not shake hands with Patrice Evra before yesterday's game. The player had told us beforehand that he would, but then chose not to do so.

"He was wrong to mislead us and wrong not to offer his hand to Patrice Evra. He has not only let himself down, but also Kenny Dalglish, his teammates and the Club. It has been made absolutely clear to Luis Suarez that his behaviour was not acceptable.

"Luis Suarez has now apologised for his actions which was the right thing to do. However, all of us have a duty to behave in a responsible manner and we hope that he now understands what is expected of anyone representing Liverpool Football Club."

Disappointing that......in all regards.
1. If Suarez did say he would shake hands and then didn't.
2. That the club have sacrificed him in full glare over something that should be personal.

Probably Suarez last big thing he does for Liverpool before he's off to the continent in the summer.

I think the owners may have shown their displeasure at this.

For me theres something in when Suarez said all is not as it seems in his tweet yesterday.

I just have a feeling he believed Evra was movin his hand away and he didn't want to be made a **** by having to reach right into Evra To shake his hand

Ayres will survive, think Kenny will step aside (especially if he wins some silverware) and Suarez will seek pastures new (the question is Madrid or Barca?)

Ferguson a week or so ago even said he would not make ferdinand shake Terry's hand, it's a personal thing he said, and how the handshake is really meaningless, just a ritual.
