I have spoken at length with the Manager since the game at Old Trafford and I realise I got things wrong.

I've not only let him down, but also the Club and what it stands for and I'm sorry. I made a mistake and I regret what happened.

I should have shaken Patrice Evra's hand before the game and I want to apologise for my actions.

I would like to put this whole issue behind me and concentrate on playing football.

I ****ing hate that statement by Ayre.

I hate it and I am hugely disappointed.

It pretty much reinforces Fergie's statement yesterday that he is disgrace for our club...

I don't think Suarez will leave nor Kenny either. I think we'll use this whole episode of everyone against us as siege mentality and focus on winning the title over the next 2-3 years.

There's no way we'll give into the press and Fergie and lose one of our best players. Suarez himself will want to prove the doubters wrong and won't be driven out of the country IMHO.

AFAIK if Suarez is happy and scoring goals and winning things, he will stay he's not a meek character.

          haha, yeah agree.

It doesnt reinforce that at all, you are overreacting. I dont like Ayre's statement mind but I dont think we are hanging him out to dry, just trying to end the matter, its far more dangerous for his future here if this keeps continuing. It needs to end.

It's nothing similar at all. Don't even compare the two

I think FSG will show patience. They had Manny Ramirez for seven seasons in Boston; Suarez situation will blow over. They are used to having problem players; I hope LFC brass (Comolli/Ayre/Dalglish) don't buckle-- I think the Olympics/Euros and Suarez having the summer off to repair his image will help.

some strong words from ian ayre as well. unacceptable from suarez to tell the club he would shake evra's hand and then go back on his words.

Agreed. Ayre is supposed to be the CEO and he's supposed to show leadership. The first time he's opened in his mouth in all of this is to lay into Suarez. I imagine Luis is feeling pretty pissed off at the club, from the way we failed to prepare him properly for the case to this latest shambles.
You can only hope that, behind the scenes, they have spoken to Luis and basically told him "we know you were innocent, we know why you didnt want to shake his hand and we totally support you in all that - but for the good of the club and its image, publicly at least, we need to seen to be saying the right things - we dont mean any of it and you'll need to take it on the chin but you know full well that we support you and continue to do so" etc.

Sometimes you have to say the 'right' thing in the public domain, whether you believe it or not.

Yep, Suarez's statement is ambiguous enough to be open to interpretation.

Reflects my opinion too as I said a couple of posts above

It's just standard 'feed the press and put this to rest' BS that's all.

The idea that a person like Patrice Evra, who has made false accusations in the past, whose petulance destroyed France's performance at the South African World Cup, who dove and feigned injury in order to get Suarez punished, who is, in short, a despicable person, would be allowed to shape the future of our club because of the reactions he provokes is not something I'm willing to accept. This is like the playground during 3rd grade; we should put it behind us, win the domestic Cup double and get in to the Champions League and let the summer wash away the problems.

LFC should stand with Luis and work with him to rehabilitate his image; if he has to jump through hoops like community service and sports psychologists, so be it, be a man and do it, but don't throw the baby out with the ridiculous bath water.

We've had England stars shagging grannies, utd stars shagging Bro's wives, players doing time for murder and playing football again.

                            This will pass, eventually.
Get our act together on the field and this will blow over fast. If we do the talking on the pitch the impact will be less. If we continue at 7th with our signings unable to score goals, this will continue. The press are like vultures looking for any weakness to beat down a slipping team.

Win the Carling Cup and FA cup and we wont have any issues over the summer. Has there been any negative article associated with Mike Ashley and Newcastle in the last 3 to 4 months.

Comolli is FSG man and they will give him some time to see if he can do his job.
In fairness, Comolli won't be judged over time, more so on what sort of transfer dealings the club have been involved in and on what basis the club's transfer budgeting has been setup over the next number of years.
Not pretty reading at the moment, considering the further outlay that would be required to progress into the top 4 (let alone win the league), and that's without considering the perceived drop in player values that would be required to be taken into account if certain exits were being predicted - Downing certainly, Carroll perhaps (not likely....at least not this summer).
Besides, its not around the corner just yet (Kenny leaving I mean), but by the time it happens, Comolli's future is more than fit for judgement IMO.

As I said before there were other ways to express discontent with what happened yesterday without being so direct IMO.

There were stuff that happened in the tunnel prior to the game that had a direct impact on Suarez decision not to shake hands and that should have been taken consideration when the statement was made.

If I were Surez I would feel that I was let down by the club with this type of statement.

I disagree. Clearly we distant ourselves from Suarez in this instance and that is in line to some extent with what Fergie stated.
