I don't understand where this thread is going or what it's about?
Are people saying we should sack the manager and hire someone else?
What if the new manager doesn't get us into the top four, do we sack his as well?
What the **** is this thread really about, is it another 'I love Rafa' thread?Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

No problem, I'll try againOriginally posted by Craig_H View PostI honestly cant see what point you're making. Your previous post included "Club wanted more English players (UEFA fair play rules probably had something to do with this, no?)" - to suggest that because of the Uefa FP rules, we want more english players. But the rules arent to do with nationality of players, they just stipulate that you can only spend what your club earns.
So i'm a bit confused as to the link between this and English players, to be honest mate.
IF (big if, I know) enforced, the rules will restrict spending of the clubs. We won't be able to do what we have done this year in the transfer market. Having bought english like we have, we really shouldn't need to either.
IMO this has affected our transfer policy.Forbes knows best... FACT

Have we looked that bad though??Originally posted by danperkins View PostIMO there nothing wrong with Arns thread, yes it is controversial and some will take offence, but he is entitled to his opinion. I think if people take a step back and put aside that it is Kenny, the thread hopefully won't be nasty.
I'm not saying kenny isn't the man for the job, not at all premature to say the least IMO. But bloody hell he has his work cut out for him. Some all too familiar performances happening at LFC. Whether or not Henderson/Carroll & Downing, who we've forked out massive money on will be a long term success, i don't know. But after 11 games and some pretty bad displays it's not looking good.
I dont think we have, after watching some of the dross served up under Rafa & Roy I think we have rarely hit those lows consistantly under Kenny
Downing I dont rate, never have and despite a good start (surprisingly) hes lapsed back into his comfort zone and his level is what I've expected
Carroll to me has improved over the last few weeks, his all round contribution has improved but hes still someway off being worth £35 million
Henderson I'm not sold on but I think he might turn out good
There are major differences between Roy/Rafa and the side under Kenny
Roys teams sat deep and gave up the ghost they lacked fight, passion and any kind of intent
Rafa's side were extremely well organised, disciplined but at times were so blunt
Kennys sides are far more open, trying to play on the front foot, but we havent been anywhere clinical enough
Even someone like Suarez (as brilliant as he is) is often profligate in front of goal
Thats my biggest worry, I'm not saying we couldnt create more because we could but improving our finishing has to be a priority. You dont hit the bar eleventy times (or whatever it is) without creating chances, but you dont win games by hitting the woodworkBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

we're creating more chances than we have done for the past 2-3 seasons, main issue seems to be we're not clinical enough, we really could do with a natural finisher playing up front with Suarez as at the moment Carroll isn't looking that guy (still early days.)
Still a long way to go but we certainly need to start clicking sooner rather than later.
11 times we've hit the woodwork, fine margins seem to be going against us but you do I guess make your own luck

Please note that just because certain posters express their admiration for Rafa, that does not equate to wanting Kenny out.
I loved Rafa. I think he is a great manager and he will show it over the next 10 years. That does not mean I want Kenny right now to be replaced by Rafa. I dont see any point in using Rafa's bad signings as a stick to beat Kenny with and Kenny's signings to be compared with Rafa. Both were made under different time and circumstances.
Secondly, I am not that happy with the summer signings. I loved the football we played at the end of last season. I loved Kenny giving chances to kids instead of overpaid journeymen footballers. But somehow we seemed to have ripped up that blueprint and gone for a complete overhaul of the squad. Carroll, Downing, Henderson, and Adam cost in excess of 70 million plus wages. I refuse to believe that we could not convince one or two genuinely world class potential to join us with that money. I am talking about players with vision, ability to go past players for fun, the sort of players which opposition hate and have ferguson dedicate press conferences complaining about their diving.
Thirdly, just because I am unhappy with the summer signings, that does not mean I want Kenny out. With the benefit of hindsight, over the first 11 games I believe that playing Maxi, Suarez, Meireles plus one smooth world class latin american or Iberian tippy tappy player would have given us more points. However for the first time in ages we appear to have a coordinated strategy from the owners down to the players. There appears to be a plan in place. Why rip up the plan at the first sign of trouble. Let us give it a season or two and see where it takes us. I dont think anyone can say with certainty that the current strategy will not work over an entire season.
Apologies for the rather long post. I think in the future due to the first post in the thread, everyone who expresses the above three sentiments will be tarred with the brush of wanting Kenny out. I just want to put it out there that a poster can support Rafa, be unhappy with Kenny's signings and still want to provide Kenny a season or two at the bare minimum to make his mark.
