Thanjk you.

Adam has only got 1 of those goals last season from open play though, a lot were penalties. We need goals from open play in midfield too.
Yeah I pointed that out last season but very few people took any notice when we were after him
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
What we need is man city style owners. That's the only thing that'll bring the instant success that the now now now fans crave. Patience is a virtue that died among us a long time ago.
It started with Rafa getting stupidly sacked for what would be an obvious downgrade but no the boo boys didn't care they wanted the man out. It's just going to keep going round in circles.
Hopefully FSG have more sense then pulling the trigger this season. Time will tell on that, I wouldn't bet against it when they don't know much about football and are still in a learning curve.
What we don't have is a clinical finisher and imo that's what we need.
As I made the similar point in the different thread we need a poacher type of a striker that can convert those chances at much higher percentage than Suarez and/or Carroll.
All others (most of those are either not playing or injured) can contribute to the goal scoring record but they are not the solution.
We need to go out and buy ourselves a proven scorer as soon as possible.
We should typically have 4 of those players on the pitch and at least a couple on the bench, so we should be capable of scoring goal, but this doesn't seem to translate onto the pitch

The whole team has to up their game in terms of scoring goals
ALL of them (Suarez included) have under performed in this department
You can only hit the bar or have keepers make save after save against you so many times before you start questioning the percentage level of conversion of chances
We should be doing much better in front of goal
As I said earlier in this thread there was a stat I heard over the weekend that stated Suarez had only converted about 11% (or was it 15% cant remember) of the “goal-scoring chances” he’d had – thats a poor percentage for a player of his undoubted quality
I agree but tbh our midfield generally doesn't look a great threat and lacks imagination.
It is a problem. the other problem there is also the Suarez accounts for a great deal of our chances in general, a lot of our other chances are pretty low percentage in my opinion.
I dont get this at all. As fans, what we 'know' for a fact, regarding tactics, systems, training etc etc, is gonna be minimal at best, given that we dont have access to the dressing room or Melwood.
Hardly anything we post is conclusive, it's nigh-on ALL opinion based.
So what's your point? We should only post stuff that's conclusive?
There'd be about 3 threads
Craig, I think you have the capacity to read between the lines and understand my point.
I dont understand the point really, if we're not informed enough to post stuff, then the forums might as well go.
Excellent idea.
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
need 9 points or more in these to keep in touch in my opionion...... spurs and arse are flying at the moment......we could find ourselves 6 or 8 points behind them going into xmas if we're not careful.....
we need a bit of perspective here. firstly all mangers make poor buys; rafa had ****ing loads but he also had some absolute gems like reina, agger, alonso, mascherano and torres. you could with a lot of justification add lucas to that list too.
the season that he spent big we finished second. that preseason torres, mascherano, babel, benayoun and a few others arrived to add a lot of quality and we finished second and really should have won it.
kennys spent best part of £100m and we dont look anywhere near a top four team. suarez and enrique apart all the rest have been ****, andy carroll especially so.
so rafa spent near to £70m and we finishex second and came really close to winning it. kennys spent nearly £100m and we wont finish top six. I know you need to look at net spend but kennys net spend after 12 months is probably near to rafas in six seasons.
kenny is a legend but I dont think he has what it takes to turn this around. rafa with fsgs backing could make us a top 3 team on a consistent basis and possibly even more.

I still can't believe that we didn't win it in 2008-09. We had a great team, we had just two defeats all season and the football we played between Feb-May was incredible.
